Ga TAPP

Welcome to GaTAPP!

The Georgia Teacher Academy for Preparation and Pedagogy (GaTAPP) is a non-traditional educator preparation program leading to a clear renewable certificate for general and special education teachers or a technical specialist certificate for the Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE). The program is primarily designed for individuals who wish to transition into teaching from another career path, did not complete a teacher education program, have never held a clear, renewable teaching certificate and have secured a teaching position with a Georgia accredited school system. The program begins with a course, The Essentials of Effective Teaching, which seeks to equip the Candidates with the skills to ensure a reasonable expectation of initial success in their classrooms, and to put in place a supervised internship/induction program that will help them move toward subsequent mastery of teaching. Candidates can complete the program in a timeframe of one to three years. Candidates who successfully complete the Chattahoochee-Flint RESA GaTAPP Preparation and Pedagogy program will meet the requirements for the professional teaching certificate issued by the state of Georgia.
