Tourism
From intense sports to family friendly activities, we have it all!
Winter
You can ski and snowboard at Phoenix Ski Area, located at the top of Greenwood. Or, come play hockey on our open air rink and make sure you do not miss our many winter events like the annual Greenwood WINTERFEST, dog-sled and snowmobile races.
The many surrounding lakes are also great to go ice-fishing!
Spring, Summer and Fall
Enjoy camping, golfing, hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, and bird watching. Our swimming pool is also open in the summer, as well as our tennis and basketball courts, baseball diamonds, and many recreational parks open to the public.
Our annual Founder’s Day Celebration (2nd weekend in July) and our Blue Grass Festival in mid August are very popular, as well as the many indoor activities organized at the McArthur Centre.
Did you know that the longest trail in the world, the Trans Canada Trail, comes through Greenwood?
Summer is also a great time to explore our rich mining and forestry history.
Greenwood is also home to some great artists: wood carvers, painters, musicians and jewelry makers.
Did you know we have a walking tour?
