Hi! I am Kathryn Wu, currently a sophomore attending Charlotte Latin School. Before moving here in 8th grade, I grew up in Houston, Texas.Â
Since joining Latin, I have worked on many projects. Among my favorites are my EE Capstone Project, a 3-Axis Drawing Machine, and my EDMII Final Project, a Resin Cutting Board. In addition to curricular assignments, I have documented here the work I have done for Pre-Fab Academy.
This is my digital portfolio, which documents all the Engineering I have done since 9th grade, which is when I took my first Engineering course: EDM I. Prior to that, I had never had the opportunity to take an Engineering course at school and had never been inside a Fab Lab. My earlier encounters with engineering and robotics were from extracurricular classes, one where I built a robot and another that was about Ozobots. I have also enjoyed my sporadic ventures onto Scratch, creating a few projects there from other summer programs or just for fun.
Aside from Engineering and STEM, I have a passion for the arts and humanities. I have been drawing and painting since I was five and frequently participate in art-related competitions. I am an avid debater as well and regularly travel to compete at tournaments along. More on the humanities side, I love creative writing, which I also compete in and have won awards for.
