This Spring Break opportunity takes students on a transformative artistic journey through the captivating landscapes and rich cultural heritage of New Mexico. Students will immerse themselves in the "Land of Enchantment," drawing inspiration for their artwork from the dramatic desert vistas, vibrant adobe architecture, and profound influence of Native American art and traditions. The group will be based in Santa Fe, diving into the indigenous roots of the area and exploring the art scene. They will also have at least one excursion out of the city to disconnect from distractions and connect with the natural surroundings. They will explore the interplay of light, color, and form as it shapes the region's unique aesthetic. Our program is designed to expand a student's skill base, guiding them to translate their personal experiences and observations into powerful artistic expressions.
Note: This trip will require participation in the form of studio work, outdoor excursions, discussion, presentation, and independent dialogue with faculty.
