The community benefit from this project is preventing young children from having the long-term consequences of not having their achilles tendon develop properly. Twarner491 knows a child who had to go through a painful surgery to correct this issue, and we think our product could help prevent children from having to go through this expensive, painful surgery. This is important because after the surgery itself, the patient might have to stay in the wheelchair for several months. This denies them of opportunities like playing sports with friends and doing things outdoors.
