The Toe Hawks is made up of four eight graders from Charlotte, North Carolina. We are all 13 to 14 years old and have possessed an interest in technology for many years. The members of our group have an immensely diverse skill set, and the fruits of our months of labor could not be realized without these skills. Despite our many technological skills, a desire to help our community using these interests is ubiquitous amongst all of the members of the Toe Hawks. Throughout the process of building our eCYBERMISSION project, we believe that we have indeed accomplished our goal of positively benefitting our community.
Our team consists of many great young engineers of our modern world. The members of our team each have different backgrounds in the field of engineering and design; however, each one is equally impressive. Sneak a gander to the below section and immerse yourself in the history and interest of the future engineers of our world.
TheBelgian2603 is an 8th grader from Belgium. He is 13 years old at the time of this writing. He has participated in eCYBERMISSION once before, last year. His two electives at school are Innovation and Design II and Computer Programming. This is his second year at Charlotte Latin School. One of the thing that sparked TheBelgian2603's interest in engineering was playing with Legos. He used to stay up at night building away.
Legend is an 8th Grade student from Charlotte, North Carolina where he was born. Throughout the course of his life, he has possessed a strong interest in engineering and computer programming. Legend has participated in a variety of engineering competitions, including past entries in the eCYBERMISSION project. Legend became interested in engineering when participating in activities involving drones. His goal is for this eCYBERMISSION product to assist those with idiopathic toe walking help strengthen their affected muscles.
Twarner491 is a 8th grade student from Chicago, Illinois. He is 13 years old, and this is his first time participating in eCYBERMISSION project. He got into engineering at a very young age through exposure to different clubs and opportunities to build, and has many extended family members who share his interest. Twarner491 was looking for interesting engineering clubs/projects at his new school, and found eCYBERMISSION in the process.
Haydinni is an 8th Grade student from Charlotte, North Carolina. At Charlotte Latin School he got into engineering and computer programming because he found it very interesting and thought it would help him later in life. In 5th grade Haydinni did Odyssey of the Mind because he had a lot of fun making things and solving problems. In OM his group did pretty well in the first competition and qualified for regionals. In regionals his group did not do as well, so he decided to do eCYBERMISSION.
All four members of the Toe Hawks attend Charlotte Latin School in Charlotte, North Carolina. This tightly knit group of eighth grade students all joined the Charlotte Latin Community at varying times in their lives. Haydinni and Legend both came to the school in the wee grade of Kindergarten while TheBelgian2603 came in the 7th Grade. Twarner491 is the newest addition to the Latin community as he just joined Charlotte Latin this year coming into the eight grade. Charlotte Latin has a great learning environment and all four members of the team greatly enjoy spending their time on the campus. Latin has all the resources necessary for the team to prosper, you can read more about this on the Resources page.
