Discover the unique advantages and empowerment of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme offered exclusively at JICHS
For more than 20 years, James Island Charter High School has proudly offered the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) in service of our students, families, and community.
The IB Diploma Programme is more than a course of study—it is an educational experience. This rigorous, two-year program is intentionally student-centered and holistic, developing open-minded, balanced, and reflective learners who think critically, act with purpose, and engage meaningfully with the world around them. Through inquiry-based learning and global perspectives, students explore ideas deeply while learning alongside a close-knit, supportive academic community.
An IB education provides a distinct advantage in university admissions and long-term academic success. IB Diploma candidates are widely recognized by colleges and universities as among the most capable, motivated, and well-rounded applicants in the United States and abroad. James Island Charter High School is the only school in Charleston County authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme.
