For more than 20 years, James Island Charter High School has proudly offered the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) in service of our students, families, and community.

The IB Diploma Programme is a rigorous, two-year course of study that develops open-minded, balanced, and reflective learners who strive to make a positive impact. Its holistic approach emphasizes global perspectives and inquiry-based learning, helping students engage deeply with content while considering diverse worldviews—locally and globally.

Because an IB education offers a distinctive advantage in preparing students for college success, IB Diploma candidates are among the most highly capable and well-rounded applicants to selective universities in the United States and abroad. JICHS is the only school in Charleston County authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme.
