Summer 2024 Graduate PD Offerings

**Please note you must register in Frontline for all graduate credit offerings. Graduate PD courses listed below can be taken free of charge for renewal credit.  If participants would like to receive graduate credit towards a bachelor’s +18 or Master’s +30 from CofC, the fee is $50 per credit hour.**

World Languages 

Proficiency in Practice: A Graduate Course for World Language Teachers - 06.13.24 - 08.01.24

In this interactive series, participants will examine language learning theories and language program data and its implications for instruction and assessment. Participants will explore strong instructional and assessment practices that increase proficiency outcomes from programs that have demonstrated success in existing students with high proficiency and unpack performance and proficiency data to inform instruction and advocate for their programs.

Elementary Science

EDPD 827 L "Understanding the 2021 SC Science Standards: Focus on K-5" 1 Hour GRAD

This online course will guide K-5 teachers through building knowledge of the structure and function of the SC College and Career Ready (SCCCR) Science standards. Teachers will learn about the three dimensions of performance expectations (PE), and explore shifts in grade-level topics as well as classroom practice. Teachers will unpack a PE, analyzing each dimension. Participants in this course will learn how inquiry-based science instruction and performance-based assessment contribute to student mastery of performance expectations found in the SCCCR Science Standards.
