All teachers who serve gifted students must have a GT Endorsement, including AP teachers.
SCDE Regulations for GT service can be found HERE.
To be GT Endorsed, you must completed TWO graduate-level courses:
EDU 591 - Nature & Needs of Gifted Learners (10 weeks)
EDU 592 - Intro to Curriculum & Instruction for Gifted Learners (10 weeks)
Tuition is paid by CCSD through Title II funds. *Federal Funding is frozen, so we are in a holding pattern until Title II funds can be released. We are still collecting names and gathering the needs of schools as we are hoping for a timely release of funds. We will NOT be able to register teachers until Title II funding has been released. Teachers CANNOT count as serving students until they are enrolled in the GT Endorsement coursework.
Please complete this Google Form with the name(s) of the teacher(s) for GT endorsement in the 25-26 school year.
Details regarding registration, course dates, and course expectations are typically sent out at the end of August.
Registration for the courses typically begin in September.
We will send updates and registration information before the additional cohorts. All information is sent to principals, Instructional Coaches, GT Liaisons, and teachers who have shown interest via email and newsletters.
For additional questions or concerns, please email ErinR_Young@charleston.k12.sc.us

Comments & Growth/Goal Report Feedback:
Comments will happen quarterly and are at your discretion. That section is titled "What we have been exploring...," but you should feel free to include any personal comments you feel are applicable.
Growth/Goal Feedback will happen at the semester and will be provided for you to edit to fit each student. This is not needed at this time.
Please remember that growth reports should not reflect the same scores across the board for any student. They should show areas of strength and needs for improvement.
All teachers who are considered "full time" at one school will be supervised by that school's prinicpal.
