William Pugh

William Pugh, a former student of Academic Magnet High School who graduated in 2015, looked into the origins of the name of the campus that holds Magnet, "Bonds-Wilson." Pugh spent 6 months during his senior year collecting artifacts from Bonds-Wilson alumni and compiled them in the Bonds-Wilson Meeting Room to be viewed by the public at any time.

According to a 2016 article written by Pugh in Academic Magnet's school newspaper "The Talon," the dedication ceremony of the collection was held in the Rose Maree Myers Theater on October 30, 2015. On that date, Pugh declared the room "a place to recognize and commemorate the Bonds-Wilson High School of 1950-85." The Bonds-Wilson room remains open to the public to view or be used as a meeting room at any time and is still located through the first door on the right when entering the media center from the stairwell.
