Library Hours
Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with afterschool hours in the library from 3:30 - 5:30 every week day.
**Please note: On early-release and half days the library closes at the time of student dismissal.**
Checkout Policy
Learners are allowed to check out up to 3 books at a time. Exceptions are made on a case by case basis. Learners can keep their books for two weeks at a time. If a book is late, students will receive a friendly email reminding them to return their book.
Lara Russell serves as Academic Magnet High School's Teacher Librarian, Technology Liaison, and Communications Director. The 2025-2026 school year will mark her seventh year as a librarian and her 24th year as a teacher.
She began teaching as a Peace Corps volunteer in Hungary in 1994 and since has worked as a secondary English teacher, a K-12 teacher of gifted and talented, an instructional coach, and an assistant professor of education.
When Dr. Russell is not teaching or reading, you can find her fishing with her husband, Tommy, playing with their dogs (Suki Bird, Arlo, and Lodi), or enjoying a good cup of coffee.
