This is a foundational world language and culture course that is required for graduation from Chapman University.
Our course is designed for students with novice to intermediate Spanish language proficiency. This course is for all students interested in learning about the Spanish language and culture.
Attendance is essential; please don't make plans that may interfere with our scheduled assessments. If you become ill and must miss class, please be sure to provide medical or legal documentation.
After taking this course, you will be able to:
Write and Speak in Spanish using the present tense and implied future (ir+a).
Read basic-level texts and interpret meaning.
Listen to Spanish speakers and communicate with them.
Have a general understanding of the complexity and beauty of our culture and language and be able to use the knowledge acquired in this course to help you become a better communicator and critical thinker within a multicultural and multilingual world.
