Can we turn in late homework online through Cengage/MindTap?
Answer: You may submit Cengage/MindTap homework up to 2 days late for partial credit (-20%). Submissions are not accepted more than 2 days late. After 2 days you will not receive any credit.
May we do Extra Credit to help boost our grade?
Answer: No, you may not boost your grade by doing extra credit. The best way to improve your grade is to perform well on assessments and turn in all assignments.
Tip: Take advantage of any supplementary Bonus Participation Activities as they become available.
Are our grades based on a curve?
Answer: No, grades are not curved.
May we miss class so we can attend a festivity or a special event, or because we just need a break?
Answer: You are a responsible adult. You will decide when not to come to class. Should you miss class, be aware that there will be a 2% penalty (per absence) on your overall grade.
If we are tardy, will we lose points?
Answer: Yes, students may lose participation and/or attendance points after the third tardy (5+ minutes late).
Can we attend half of the class and get attendance credit?
Answer: No. Students must attend the entire class to receive attendance credit. Please do not ask to be excused early.
May we request an extension on a missed deadline or make up a missed assessment?
Answer: No, unless there is a valid reason which is medically or legally documented. If you do not have a legally or medically documented reason, the answer is definitely no.
Are electronic devices allowed during class?
Answer: It depends. Devices are only to be used for classroom activities or to access course content. For clarification of what it means to use technology appropriately in a classroom, please ask you instructor.
In addition to our textbook, do we need a pen/pencil and paper?
Answer: Yes, you will need the textbook, pen/pencil and paper because it is very important to take notes and write during class.
