Heading out to see the much-talked-about Wuthering Heights?
Before you settle in for a sweeping romance, think again. Directed by Emerald Fennell, this adaptation leans into the wild, unsettling side of Emily Brontë’s novel - a story packed with obsession, cruelty, and emotional extremes rather than cosy love and happy endings.
Listen to Professor Sara Lodge as she shares her take on Fennell’s adaptation and explains why Wuthering Heights shocked its original readers - and why it’s still such a strange, dark, and fascinating Victorian novel today.
Read about SJP's year of judging one of the most prestigious literary prizes going - how it changed her reading habits to give her the confidence to argue for the novels she loves.
