Fall 2025 Coming Soon!
Superman: The “Feel-Food” Movie of 2025.
By Orion Chidlaw-Mayen
The new Superman movie that first appeared in theaters, on July 11 2025, is a very good superhero movie and is quite uplifting.
Directed/written by James Gunn. Starring David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, and Edi Gathegi. Throughout the film Superman’s character gives off a lot of feel-good vibes and he’s meant to represent all of the good qualities in humanity. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the fictional superhero named Superman, here’s a little context about him. Superman is a humanoid alien from the distant planet Krypton who was sent in an escape pod to Earth because of his planet being destroyed. He was then raised by humans, learned all about humanity, and the importance of right and wrong. Superman is also a very powerful alien with a variety of abilities, such as flight, super strength, x-ray vision, and more. He uses his abilities to protect humanity, his loved ones, and the planet he calls home from any threats. This is exactly the case in this spectacular film, Superman is Earth’s protector no matter the cost. What makes this film a “feel good” movie is Superman’s positive attitude. He’s an extremely kind, caring person who will protect/save anyone ranging from a friend to someone he doesn’t even know. It’s shown throughout the film that he has a strong moral code/sense of justice, he never does anything with ill intentions or for his self-interest. He will always protect innocents from getting harmed, whatever it takes. Even when there are people who aren’t fond of him or don’t trust him, like the government or the press, he refuses to turn his back on humanity. It really proves my point when comparing him with his archnemesis, Lex Luthor. Although a human, Lex Luthor represents some of the darkest aspects that can be found in humanity like ego, greed, jealousy, narcissism, manipulation, and corrupting influence of unchecked power and wealth. Even though Superman is an alien he shows that he has compassion, he extends a helping hand to those in need, he acts on good things like hope and justice, he can love and feel scared, and that’s what makes him more human than many people. These are his greatest qualities and strengths. After seeing this film I for one felt quite content and uplifted, it sends a good message. With a lot of tough things happening in the real world right now, I strongly believe movies that send good, inspiring, and hopeful messages are the ones people need to be watching. And I highly recommend seeing this film at some point in your life. You’ll get a great superhero film that’ll leave you feeling good afterwards.
Childhood trauma can leave deep scars influencing a child's development and well being in profound ways trauma can come from events like abuse, neglect or witnessing violence disrupts a child's sense of safety and security understanding the impact of trauma is crucial for providing the necessary support and care to help these children heal and thrive
One primary way trauma affects children is through their emotional and behavioral regulation. Traumatized children may struggle with intense emotions such as fear, anger or sadness and may have difficulty managing their reactions . This can manifest as outbursts difficulty concentrating or withdrawal from social interactions additional trauma can impact a child's cognitive abilities affecting memory attention and problem solving skills
Creating a safe and supportive environment is essential for children with trauma. This involves building trusting relationships, providing consistent routines and offering opportunities for emotional expression therapeutic interventions such as trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy and play therapy can help children process their experiences and develop coping strategies with the right support children can heal from trauma and build resilience.
Social standards have always been evolving and changing the more time has gone on, so, ladies and gentlemen I hope you can take your seats and enjoy this article that I wrote at 2 in the morning with nothing but sleep-induced motivation and an orange cat. As we all may know jealousy is such a big term if not everyone has experienced it at least once if not twice during their lives, it could be subtle or strong but oh don’t be mistaken, it is certainly there. The main topic of this idea is Social Standards, the unspoken code amongst society - which never fails to make people think differently and want to follow along - besides that you can find just about anything that can piss you off, make you laugh, or even feel deeply bad about yourself ( although i’m not sure why that might be when everyone wasn’t made to look the same so who cares if someone has a pointy nose, body, skin, etc ). Platforms such as Tik Tok and Instagram always shows people our age living the life we want or being beautiful that you can only wish for that kind of beauty or life, it’s interesting how our minds make such things up in our heads when as a society and humans we all want something we don’t have though that doesn’t make us alien or weird for not having that. Everyone is born and after that you make your own decisions and have your own thoughts, sure you may see other people who are better looking, a better body, smarter, overall better than you, but we aren’t in a competition with them now are we? We all have what others want and want what we don’t have, even amongst friend groups one can secretly be envious of what their friends have, that kind of mindset will only show you that it’s one against oneself. Let’s all take a step back and ask “Is this worth it? What do I gain from being envious of others? “ In truth it’s nothing and no, everyone is different because that’s how we were made, sure there are beautiful people around even richer or more successful but envy/ comparison is the thief of joy. This is a time for everyone to grow and be themselves. We are kids and are growing so enjoy the childhood you get because there won’t be another, do something even if you don’t want to, talk to some friends because you may not ever know just how someone sees you. It sucks, I get it, feeling like you aren’t good enough or just drained about everything, though everyone sees others differently even a person you may not know may see you for the first time and think you are breathtaking. Don’t let the social standards pick and piece us apart or mold us into some cattle, instead live your life, do what you need to ( responsibly) and just have fun. I may not know who needs to hear this but you are doing your best and I'm proud of you. Everyone is so keep going and remember to enjoy yourself but also rest, everyone is beautiful in their own way even if it sounds corny. Be you and find that motivation that is right for you instead of following others, high school is temporary and you may not see everyone anymore so live it to the fullest and don’t mind what people say, everyone talks and at the end of the day it’s your choice to listen or not.
Spirit Halloween, a popular retail business known for its extensive selection of Halloween products, has begun stocking up its locations – preparing for this spine-chilling season. Near Champs Charter alone, there are ten looming, the closest being just over a mile away. Last year alone, Spirit Halloween had a total of 1,525 locations scattered throughout America. That same year, Spirit reported a gross income of approximately $1.9 billion. For a company that began as a small discount pop-up, this evolution is jaw-dropping to say the least.
Last year, a new location opened up: Spirit Christmas. Spirit Christmas is exactly what it sounds like: a Christmas-themed retail store, only open during the winter seasons. This idea has been workshopped since the late 90s, and only became a physical business in late 2024. This year, they will be back and in marginally bigger numbers to accompany Spirit Halloween’s reign. In 2024, a total of eight Spirit locations were opened across America. This year, a shocking ten will be in place. Fortunately for us, no Spirit Christmas locations are opening near us, let alone within the state of California. We are once again saved from the holiday cheer.
Besides the obvious shift in energy, both Spirits have their fair share of differences: the average Spirit Halloween is roughly 50,000 square feet, while a Spirit Christmas is only 5,000 square feet. Among them, the stock of each varies greatly. A Spirit Halloween could have thousands of different products scattered among each store, while the ten Spirit Christmas stores only have mere hundreds. Every key aspect Spirit Christmas has, Spirit Halloween would take such, add a more frightening overlay, and triple its very existence.
Whether you’re the type to go all out with costumes and bone-chilling décor, or the kind who’d rather sip hot chocolate by the fire with green string lights and tinsel strung around the house, Spirit never fails to deliver on holiday vibes — creepy or cozy. And with the company growing every year, it’s only a matter of time before a Spirit Christmas accompanies us closer to home. Until then, have a happy haunting, or holidays — whenever you’re reading this!

Strange world of derealization: the unsettling feeling like if you're watching your life through a movie screen. Derealization makes somebody feel like they’re detached from the world and feel distant from their peers. This makes it scary because you know the world hasn’t changed, but it feels different from what it actually is. Understanding what causes this feeling helps people better understand why it happens to those who go through it. The reasons behind derealization have many different forms on how it’s caused and how it affects people in different ways. Some of the ways it’s caused are through high stress, anxiety, even drug use. The brain causes it to make you feel this disconnected feeling as a protection resource for itself. Living with derealization makes your everyday life task more difficult then how they were before. The feeling of derealization doesn't just affect the brain, but affects your work, school, even your own relationships, whether with your family or your partner because of the “out of it feeling” you get from it. Overtime derealization makes everyday responsibilities harder. At work it can cause it to make it harder to make decisions and cause mistakes. In school it can make you feel isolated from friends and uncertain of what to do because of the out of zone feeling. In relationships whether with your loved ones, a partner or anyone close to you it makes it harder to express emotionally. The fear of what it comes with because of that others might not understand what you're going through also can make you feel more stuck in that feeling, even when you want to explain it. Now to wrap it up, the feeling of derealization can make your everyday responsibilities harder, confusing, and disconnected, affecting your everyday lifestyle harder. While it can feel unsettling learning about it and why it happens to help people understand why it happens. By understanding derealization both with who experienced it and the people around them can make it more easier in their everyday life style with no struggles.

Humans are slowly destroying themselves. Every day, we fill our bodies with junk food that harms our health. At the same time, we keep damaging the environment we rely on to survive. Instead of making positive changes, we are depending more on technology and artificial intelligence. While AI can help us, it is also taking over jobs and daily tasks. As a society, this reliance makes us weaker and lazier. Machines do the work, while people move further away from real effort and purpose. If we keep going in this direction, we will not only ruin the planet; we will ruin ourselves.
Another problem is our growing reliance on technology. Artificial intelligence and robots make our lives easier, but they also take away jobs and responsibilities. When machines handle all the work, people lose motivation and purpose. Society risks becoming lazy and less capable as technology gains more control. If we are not careful, we will let the tools we created replace us.

Superman has been widely considered the first mainstream superhero. For more than 87 years, the character has motivated people to always bring out the best in themselves, to inspire hope, and to show humanity's greatness. Yet when comparing the two movies; one is more of a gritty action, while the other is more of a serious comedic film. In this article we will prove to you why 2025’s "Superman" is a better Superman film than 2013's "Man of Steel".
In the opening of both films, you can tell how drastically different they each are. With (2013) "Man of Steel's" opening being a dark common futuristic action film, with Zod rebelling against the planet's leaders to take over. Ending with Zod being captured and Kal-El being sent to earth. Yet with "Superman" (2025), it starts with Superman in the arctic with a much brighter tone and theming.
We are given some background that passes Superman's origin and some context for why he was in the arctic. We then see Kryto the super dog save him and take him to get healed. "Man of Steel" acts as more of an adult comic book movie, while the new "Superman" is more of an all ages film which is what Superman is supposed to stand for.
In both movies, we can clearly see the main focus of each is to explore the kind of person superman is. With "Man of Steel" focusing way more on the "super" side. While "Superman" focuses on both with more time on the "man" side. The entire point of superman is to show his optimism and above all else to show he’s a symbol of hope.
The entire point of the new Superman was to prove although he may be an alien, he is just as human as the rest of us. Superman isn’t supposed to be someone you fear, but someone you look up to when all is lost and you feel it’s over. And the new "Superman" film gives us exactly that. Not some gritty action where the main character can fly, but someone who is just as human as the rest of us. And that is what makes this new "Superman" movie the best live action version out there.
What is the skin?
The skin is the largest organ in the human body, covering its entire external surface. It is a complex and multilayered structure that plays crucial roles in protecting, regulating, and sensing the body.
Some skin functions
Protection: Acts as a barrier against physical, chemical, and microbial threats. It protects the underlying tissues from injuries, infections, and harmful substances.
Sensation: The skin is densely populated with nerve endings that allow us to feel touch, pain, heat, and cold.
Regulation: Helps regulate body temperature by sweating and shivering.
Protection:The skin acts as a barrier that protects the underlying tissues organs from UV radiation and physical injury; and external factors such as harmful microorganisms (it is also home to about 1000 species of non-harmful bacteria),
Skincare is crucial for maintaining health, youthful-looking skin and overall well-being. It protects your skin from environmental damage, prevents premature aging and boosts confidence.
“Investing early in the health of the health of your skin, with regular skincare, will not only better protect it from hash effects of winter, but also keep you looking and feeling your best throughout the year”
-Steven Nwe, DO

Skin and Sun
Our bodies were built to make good use of the sun. Sunlight helps keep our sleeping patterns on track so we can stay awake by day and sleep soundly at night. Getting too little sun, especially in winter months, can leave some people prone to a form of depression known as seasonal affective disorder. Sunlight also helps our skin make vitamin D, which is needed for normal bone function and health. Yet sunlight can also cause damage. Our bodies were built to make good use of the sun. “When you’re exposed to ultraviolet radiation, there’s a repair process that goes on constantly in each one of your exposed cells,” says Dr. Stephen I. Katz, director of NIH’s National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases. Still, long-term damage to your skin can remain.

Why is it important to use sunscreen?
Using sunscreen is crucial for protecting your skin from the harmful effects of ultraviolet (UV) radiation. It helps prevent sunburn, premature aging, and reduces the risk of skin cancer, including melanoma. UV radiation, even on cloudy days, can damage skin cells and contribute to these issues.
What type of sunscreen should we use?
In high temperatures, choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher, and prioritize mineral sunscreens for better protection against intense heat and humidity, especially if you have sensitive skin. Look for water-resistant formulas, and reapply it at least every two hours, more often if you're sweating.
Key Features to Look For
Broad-Spectrum Protection: Protects against both UVA (aging) and UVB (burning) rays.
SPF 30 or Higher: The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) recommends an SPF of 30 or above for adequate protection.
Water-Resistant: This is crucial if you'll be sweating or swimming, as it helps the sunscreen stay on your skin.
Skincare Routines
The order in which you apply products affects how well they work on your skin. In general—for both morning and evening routines—you'll want to apply products from lightest to heaviest after cleansing. And no matter the product, always read and follow the instructions for use.
Some basic products you can use are:
Morning Routine
Cleanser
Moisturiser
Lip balm
Sunscreen
Night Routine
Cleanser
Exfoliant(once a week)
Face mask(twice a week)
Moisturiser
Eye contour(optional)
Lip balm
Morning routines focus on protection during the day and the night routine helps to repair the damages that the sun or whatever exposure you had about something dangerous like contamination. Another thing that also helps to recover your skin, a good sleep, sleep 8 hours every day and drink a lot of water, for hydration.

A story of Family, rules, and choices
The animated movie Batman vs. Robin from 2015 tells a story about Batman and his son, Damian Wayne, who is also Robin. It's a tricky journey for them because Damian was raised to be a killer, and Batman has a very strict rule: no killing. This movie shows how they learn to be a family and fight bad guys together, even when they don't agree.
