Ms. Casidy Reed
Casidy Reed (she/her/hers) is a musician, educator, and advocate for music education. Native to Buffalo, NY, she is currently a Band Director at the Chagrin Falls Exempted Village School District in the Cleveland, Ohio area. Previously, she taught 7-12 Band at the Greece Central School District in Rochester, NY. Reed received her Master of Music in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music in 2021. She graduated with her Bachelor of Music Education as a trumpet primary from the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music in 2019.
Reed is the Conductor/Artistic Director of the New Horizons Band Program at the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music, a current trumpet player with The Cleveland Winds, the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Suburban Symphony Orchestra, freelances in the Cleveland area, and maintains her own private studio of trumpet students of all ages. She has presented at numerous conferences, including the Gender Equity in Music Conference at the Eastman School of Music and the New York State School of Music Association (NYSSMA) Conference. Additionally, she is an editor for the International Women's Brass Conference, and is the creator/host of her own podcast, "Music HERstory", which focuses on issues of equity in the music profession.
Reed has studied trumpet with James Thompson, former principal trumpet of the Montreal and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Jack Sutte of The Cleveland Orchestra, John Maguda, Frank Campos, and Michael Vertoske. She maintains current memberships with the National Association for Music Education (NafME), the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA), the International Women's Brass Conference (IWBC), the International Trumpet Guild (ITG), and Women Band Directors International (WBDI).
Reed hopes to live a life dedicated to creating music and teaching others. She believes that musical performance and education should be intertwined. Her current research areas include gender equity in music, equity in education, intersectionality, music aptitude and achievement, community music school education, and teacher preparation programs
Mr. Rob Sobnosky
Mr. Sobnosky has a Bachelor of Music in Music Education at the University of Akron and is currently the Co-Director of 5th - 12th Grade Bands. This is his 5th year in education and at Chagrin.
Mr. Nate Bachofsky
Mr. Bachofsky is starting his 12th year teaching, 9 of those here in Chagrin Falls where he directs the choirs in grades 7th-12th and oversees the drama program at the high school. Nathan has his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music and a Master's degree in Education in Educational Administration from Ursuline College. He enjoys making music, camping, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Kendra Karriker
Mrs. Karriker graduated from the University of Akron with both her Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance and Master's degree in Music Education. She is in her 16th year of education and her 9th year at Chagrin.
