Graphing Stories- 15 seconds at a time. This would be most appropriate for 8th grade math and algebra 1, possibly algebra 2.
This is a really easy resource to use. You will need to run off the handout. Then you show the video. In the video, they show a 15 second video clip, then show it in slow motion. The students try to graph what is happening, then they show the correct graph. Time in seconds is always on the x-axis, but they y-axis changes.
Examples of video topics-Height off the ground on a slide, distance from the camera on a merry-go-round, distance from home plate
Every story is graphed on a graph like below. Students have to decide value on the y-axis.
