Birdie Bags

Cuyahoga Falls City School District is honored to partner with the Ben Curtis Family Foundation to distribute birdie bags to our students on a monthly basis. A Birdie Bag contains food, such as oatmeal, pasta, granola bars and fruit snacks and is sent home with children in need throughout the school year.

Dear Black Tiger Families,

We are delighted to be an integral part of your community. The Ben Curtis Family Foundation, established in 2013, is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of children and addressing food insecurity while also striving to fulfill the essential needs of children in northeast Ohio.

The Birdie Bag program for the 2025-26 school year runs from August to May. Each bag contains six meals and four snacks tailored to be distributed as needed. Our goal is to include convenient and easy-to-prepare meals and snacks. Please feel free to communicate with your child's teacher if you require more frequent or additional Birdie Bags. 

The Akron Canton Regional Foodbank provides most of our food supply. Food remains safe for consumption regardless of the sell-by date. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding sell-by dates, we recommend visiting www.stilltasty.com.

While the Ben Curtis Family Foundation strives to provide nutritious and safe food items, it's important to note that Birdie Bags may contain or have come into contact with common allergens such as nuts, dairy, wheat, soy, eggs, and others.

If your child has any food allergies, please exercise caution when handling and consuming items from the Birdie Bags. Carefully check all food items for allergen labels and consider avoiding products that may pose a risk.
