For a complete look at Handbook policies, please read the Team Member Handbook on BAND. Paper copies are available upon request or in the Breakroom.
Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start work. Late arrival, early departure or other deviations from scheduled hours are disruptive and must be avoided.
If, for any reason, you will be tardy or unable to report to work (i.e. sickness) on a scheduled workday:
You must call Leadership at the Restaurant at least two hours, or as soon as is practicable, before the time you are scheduled to begin work and provide Leadership with a compelling reason or explanation, as well as the expected duration of any absence.
It is your responsibility to get your shift covered. Similarly, if you need to leave work early for any reason, you must first obtain the permission of your immediate Shift Leader or the Operator. Failure to notify your Shift Leader of any anticipated or unanticipated absence, the need to leave work early, or delay in reporting for work may be grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including termination, except as may be provided by applicable law.
Any absence due to sickness longer than 2 days may require a doctor’s note. If an Employee has any recurring sickness, he or she must seek accommodation from Leadership.
Absenteeism or tardiness may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. If you fail to report to work without any notification to Leadership, your absence will be considered a “no call, no show” and may be considered an abandonment of your employment and voluntary termination of your employment.
Attendance and Punctuality infractions are subject to a points system.
Chick-fil-A® Citadel Crossing expects every Employee to show respect for all of our colleagues, clients, associates, and vendors. Professional conduct furthers Chick-fil-A® Citadel Crossing’s mission, promotes productivity, minimizes disputes, and enhances our reputation. Accordingly, this policy forbids any unwelcome conduct that is based on an individual’s race, color, religious creed, sex, sex stereotype (including assumptions about a person’s appearance or behavior, gender roles, gender expression, or gender identity), pregnancy (which includes pregnancy, childbirth, and medical conditions related to pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding), gender, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, age, mental or physical disability, ancestry, medical condition, marital status, military or veteran status, citizenship status, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other protected status of an individual or that individual’s associates or relatives. We interpret these protected statuses broadly to include both the actual status and also any perceptions and assumptions made regarding these statuses. For purposes of this policy, gender includes gender identity and expression, transgender identity, pregnancy, breastfeeding, childbirth, or related medical condition, and gender stereotyping. Chick-fil-A® Citadel Crossing is thus committed to providing a work environment that is free of unlawful discrimination, including harassment that is based on any legally protected status. Chick-fil-A® Citadel Crossing will not tolerate any form of harassment that violates this policy.

Paychecks regularly go out every other Thursday
or Friday if the Thursday is a bank holiday
Even if you set up your direct deposit info, your first check is very likely to be issued as a paper check. This is due to the amount of time it takes most banks to approve Chick-fil-A to deposit into their bank accounts.
Paper checks are printed payday, and are ready for pickup at the earliest 2p that day. You are also welcome to pick up your check any day or time after that point if that's easier for you. When you arrive, just let a Shift Lead know you need to pick up your check & they can get it out of the safe for you. You may want to avoid the lunch & dinner rushes to reduce the likelihood that you’ll need to wait for a manager to become free to get it out.
The image below is an example of how our pay periods line up. For the Month of February, you can see the pay period was a full 2 weeks in length. It started on the 4th & extended through the 17th. That pay period was processed & sent to corporate on Monday the 19th. Then the checks were printed and ready to be cashed, by 2p that Thursday on the 22nd.
Employees who work at least 3 hours during a single day are entitled to meal credit of $10.00. This meal credit is not money and if you do not use it during a single day you lose it and cannot receive additional credit the next working day.
Employees also have unlimited access to refillable beverages, regardless of the length of their shifts. However, to use this benefit Employees must use their own cup/bottle. An Employee cup is provided to each employee as part of their onboarding process. If you would like to purchase a beverage, you will need to purchase the cup & tape your receipt to the outside of your cup. Without that clearly visible proof of purchase (receipt), you may be required to purchase the cup again.
The following rules and conditions apply to this employee meal benefit:
Food is only to be eaten while on break, before, or after shift.
You will be responsible for paying for any food outside of the meal credit.
If you would like a bottled drink, boxed drink, iced coffee, seasonal flavored tea, frosted drink, milkshake, cookie, or brownie, these are available at full price.
You are required to order from the front counter (as a customer would) and the meal should be placed at the register by a Leader.
Your order should be rung up by a Leader when your order is taken, which will be discounted as an Employee meal.
If you are working a closing shift, you will need to eat your meal either before your shift or during your break.
No one is permitted to enter the walk-in cooler or freezer with a purse, backpack, or similar container.
Where progressive discipline is appropriate, the following types of disciplinary action may be taken, in no particular order:
Verbal warning(s)
Written warning(s)
Suspension without pay
Termination
Disciplinary actions will be approached on a case-by-case basis, taking into account all the relevant facts and factors of the situation. Therefore, the Company retains the right to skip any of these steps of progressive discipline if circumstances necessitate. The Company also reserves the right to discipline an employee at any time for inappropriate conduct or behavior, whether or not such conduct is referenced or mentioned in this policy.
This points system (some examples are listed in the image below) is not exhaustive of all disciplinable conduct. Serious instances of rule violations, improper conduct or unsatisfactory job performance, as determined by Leadership, may result in severe forms of disciplinary action, up to and including immediate termination of employment, without prior progressive disciplinary action.
These actions (listed below), their expiration dates & point reduction values are subject to change with or without notice. You are responsible for knowing how many points have been logged on your profile. If you are unsure regarding the amount of points active on your profile, you need to reach out to a Director via Band, so they can check your account balance for you & send you the results.
