Cosmic Data Story – English

The CosmicDS allows to explore the neighborhood of the Solar System by interacting with the Radcliffe Wave that gives birth to clusters of baby stars, shown as blue dots. The white line is a theoretical model by Ralf Konietzka and collaborators that explains the current shape and motion of the Wave. The magenta and green lines show how and to what extent the Radcliffe Wave will move in the future. Background is a cartoon model of the Milky Way.

Die CosmicDS ermöglicht es, die Umgebung des Sonnensystems zu erforschen, indem der Benutzer mit der Radcliffe Welle interagiert. Die Radcliffe Welle besteht aus Clustern von Baby-Sternen, die als blaue Punkte dargestellt sind. Die weiße Linie ist ein theoretisches Modell von Ralf Konietzka und seinen Teamkollegen, welches die aktuelle Form und Bewegung der Welle erklärt. Die magentafarbenen und grünen Linien zeigen, wie und in welchem Ausmaß sich die Radcliffe Welle in Zukunft bewegen wird. Der Hintergrund ist ein Cartoon-Modell der Milchstraße.
