The nervous system is made up of the brain, the spinal cord and a large network of nerves. Sensory nerves carry messages to the brain and motor nerves carry messages to the muscles.
-Nerve Cells-----------
Nerve cells are called neurons. They transmit electro chemical messages from one to another. The space between neurons is called sipnapsis.
-Parts of the Nervous System------
The brain: it receives and sends information to tell the body how to react.
The spinal cord: it is a long thick tube that connects the brain to the rest nerves.
The nerves: they can be:
Sensory nerves: send information fom the enviroment to the brain.
Motor nerves: receive messages from the brain to the muscles and glands.
