Team List
Pre-Created Teams
Teams have already been created by the activity coordinator.
Activity leaders will be informed of which students are on which team.
Team Roles
Each team selects a captain.
Each team selects a goalie (can be switched between matches).
Group Stage
Semi-Finals
Finale
The winners of each tournament round advance to the next stage
Referee - ensures the match is played fairly & safely
start and s stop play
monitor game
goal decision
assist penalty kicks
Time Keeper - in charge of tracking match time for each game
Score Keeper - keeps track of the scores during the game, as well as the team progressions
Each match lasts 8 minutes total.
The referee will start and stop the game with a whistle.
The clock runs continuously unless the referee stops the game for safety.
Each team has 7 players on the field:
6 field players
1 goalie
Additional teammates stay on the sideline as substitutes.
Coin Toss:
The team captains of the competing teams call heads or tails
The referee flips a coin to decide which team starts with the kickoff.
The winner team gets to do the kick off
Teams take positions on their respective halves.
The ball is placed in the middle of the field
The kickoff occurs when the activity leader blows the whistle.
The player kicks the ball forward, and the match begins
A goal counts when the entire ball crosses the goal line between the posts.
Each goal is worth 1 point.
After a goal is scored, the opposing team restarts play from the center circle.
There are no fixed field lines, so the ball can move freely.
If the ball goes far away, into unsafe areas, or clearly hinders the game, the yellow-shirted activity leader can call it “out of bounds.”
The referee places the ball in a safe spot and blows the whistle to resume play.
Play continues with a kickoff or free pass to the team that last touched the ball (leader’s judgment)
The goalie may use their hands only when they are standing near the goal
The goalie must release the ball within 6 seconds.
The goalie may throw, drop-kick, or pass the ball back into play.
The referee stops play for:
Pushing or tripping
Handballs by field players
Dangerous tackles
Unsportsmanlike behavior
Penalty:
The opposing team receives a free kick from the spot of the foul.
Substitutions can happen during stoppages (throw-ins, goals, injuries).
The goalkeeper stays in goal.
A designated kicker from the team stands with the ball at the penalty spot (you can mark it with a cone or a small bag in a park).
Only one kicker and the goalie are involved at a time.
All other players must stand outside the penalty area.
Teams alternate kicks:
Team A kicks first, then Team B, and so on.
The kicker tries to score by kicking the ball into the goal.
The goalie tries to stop the ball.
Each goal counts as 1 point.
After three kicks per team, the team with more goals wins.
If tied after three kicks, continue with sudden-death penalties:
Each team takes one kick at a time until one team scores and the other misses
The kicker must shoot from the penalty spot.
The ball must move forward and cannot be touched again until it crosses the goal line.
The goalie must stay on the goal line until the ball is kicked.
Players waiting their turn must stay outside the penalty area and behind the ball line.
