Ceres Unified School District is pleased to offer at no cost Ceres Teacher Induction Program to all district teachers who possess a general education and/or education specialist preliminary credential. Induction candidates work with a mentor and reflect on their practice. The Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) allows candidates to select areas for professional growth and learning through action research in their classrooms. At the completion of Ceres Induction Program requirements, teachers are recommended for a California clear teaching credential (multiple subject, single subject, or education specialist).
Teachers working with a Provisional Intern Permit (PIP), Short-Term Staff Permit (STSP), or intern credential are also paired with a Peer Coach (district mentor) at no cost to the candidate teacher. Upon earning a preliminary credential, these candidate teachers are admitted into the Induction Program.
The Ceres Unified Teacher Induction Program's mission is to provide all students with teachers who use research-based instructional design and delivery norms, who actively collaborate and reflect on their practice, and who use formative assessment data to continually grow in their professional practice.
Through job-embedded, collegial, interactive, practical, and results-oriented professional learning connected to classroom practice, teachers in the Ceres Induction Program actively analyze their practices, reflect on their teaching, collaborate with colleagues, and gain the knowledge and skills needed to continuously improve teaching and student learning; they become long-term professional learners and educators.
