Choral Uniform Information
Each performance event has a dress code. If a student does not come to an event in the proper dress, they will receive half-credit for a performance and/or may not perform as a result. In our Advanced Choir Elective, we have two levels of performance attire: Spirit Attire and Concert Attire

Harmonique Choir Uniforms
(Concert Singers/Advanced Choir Only)
The following page is designed to inform regarding choral uniforms/ladies performance attire for the 2021/2022 school year.
Concert uniforms are exclusive to Concert Singers (Advanced Choir) at this moment in time. As funding permits, we may receive more for all choirs in future performances.
Advanced CHOIR DRESS CONTRACT (FROM HANDBOOK)
(Girls & She/Her Only)
Your Student will be assigned a brand-new Concert Uniform (Dress). This Will Include:
One Concert Dress
One Concert Dress Hanger
One Blue Uniform Bag (Numbered)
Please Review this contract with your student, signed and returned by Monday, August 23rd, 2021.
All Uniforms will be stored at Rio Vista Middle School throughout the school year. Uniforms will be checked out before each concert and returned immediately the following school day.
No uniform will be taken home unless approved in advance by Mr. Sanchez.
There will be NO EATING ALLOWED while in uniform.
If a uniform gets soiled before the end of the concert season, it is the student’s responsibility to have the uniform professionally dry-cleaned. If the uniform becomes excessively wrinkled, the student should make arrangements to take the uniform home to be dry-cleaned.
It is a student’s responsibility to hem the uniform dress to the correct length and make necessary repairs as the concert season progresses. Please see the following hemming instructions.
Dress Hemming Instructions
You may not cut from the dress… there must be at least a 4” hem.
Girls need to wear black closed-toe shoes no more than 2” in height.
Determine the proper dress length with shoes on.
Dress should be floor-length but should not drag. Garments that are too long will become ripped and frayed and possibly deemed unusable next year.
ALL HEMS MUST BE SEWN. NO PINS, GLUE, OR TAPE SHOULD BE USED TO SECURE THE HEM. Please find a tailor or seamstress to do the hemming if you do not know anyone who sews.
Most dry cleaners offer alterations services.
Members must wear black hosiery and black dress shoes and may want to consider wearing black undergarments due to the gown’s neckline. No jewelry should be worn except perhaps small earrings. I do not object to uniform ribbons if all students receive them from a fellow classmate in advance.
All Uniform Dresses will be inspected at the end of the school year. It is the student’s responsibility to replace any items that are lost, permanently stained, ripped, cut, or considered unusable for the school year. Rio Vista Choir will treat this similar to a book fine. The replacement fees are listed below.
The student should report any problem with a uniform as soon as possible to Mr Sanchez.
2021 –2022 Concert Uniform Replacement Fees as of Fall 2019
Students will be charged as follows for any lost/damaged item plus shipping/handling:
Harmonique Concert Dress (Southeastern Performance Apparel): $72.00
