Coach Vera
Wrestling has been a significant part of my life since I first stepped onto the mat in 2001 during middle school. From those early days, I knew I had found my passion, which only grew stronger as I competed on the varsity team at Central High School from 2002 to 2006.
After high school, I had the privilege of wrestling for Fresno City College from 2007 to 2009, where I was fortunate enough to be part of the 2008 championship wrestling team. That experience solidified my love for the sport and gave me invaluable lessons that I now pass on to my athletes.
In 2013, I returned to Central High School, this time as an assistant wrestling coach. For four years, from 2013 to 2017, I had the opportunity to help shape the next generation of wrestlers, guiding them not only in technique but also in discipline and mental toughness—qualities that wrestling instills in all of us.
Family is incredibly important to me. I am married to my high school sweetheart and the proud father of three boys who currently attend Herndon Barstow Elementary. My commitment to youth sports goes beyond wrestling; I'm also an assistant coach on my son's baseball team, where I emphasize the same values of teamwork, perseverance, and dedication that have served me well throughout my life.
As Head Wrestling Coach at Herndon Barstow, I am dedicated to leading our team with the same passion and commitment that have driven me since I first began wrestling. My goal is to inspire and develop our athletes, helping them reach their full potential both on and off the mat.
Coach Jedd Ingraham
Wrestling has been in my blood since I started in high school, battling on the mat from 1999 to 2003. That passion drove me to compete at the collegiate level, wrestling for Fresno State from 2003 to 2004. Wrestling taught me discipline, grit, and the importance of pushing through challenges—values I carry with me every day.
Now, I’m proud to bring that same intensity and commitment to coaching at Herndon Barstow Elementary School. My goal is simple: to help young athletes toughen up, develop their skills, and grow into strong, resilient individuals. I’m not just here to teach the sport; I’m here to build character and prepare these kids for whatever life throws their way.
Beyond wrestling, I’ve spent time coaching football and currently coach my sons' baseball team. Coaching my boys, who also attend Herndon Barstow, is one of the greatest rewards. I believe in leading by example and showing them the value of hard work, determination, and teamwork.
Whether on the wrestling mat, the football field, or the baseball diamond, I’m all about instilling a sense of toughness, pride, and a never-quit attitude. That’s what I bring to coaching, and that’s what I expect from the kids I coach.
