1950’s Golden Eagle Athletes

Frank Copeland (’57) Inducted 1988

Frank entered Central Regional when it first opened its doors.  That year, he captured the Athlete of the Year award.  He was the football team captain and a great running back.  He played a crucial part in leading that 1956 maiden team to a winning season capped by a South Jersey – Group I Title.  Frank was a standout in track as well, excelling in the 100-yard dash, 220 and the 440, where he was unbeaten for three years.  He was also a star centerfielder in baseball.  Frank went on to play semi-pro football for the old Jersey Sharks out of Asbury Park.   

Charlie Seipel (’58) Inducted 1991

Known then as “Mr. Smooth”, Charlie was a two-time All-Star for Central’s early basketball teams.  As a 6’3” center, he was a scoring and rebounding leader and was considered to be one of Central’s best.  Charlie was a defensive back and linebacker on the 1957 unbeaten football team.  His pass interception and runback of 49 yards broke open the first ever Toms River – Central football game, which Central won 12 – 0.  Charlie also lettered in track.  

Dick Pine (’59) Inducted 1991

A three-sport standout, Dick starred on the unbeaten 1957 Central Regional football team as a wide receiver and place-kicker.  Next to Hall of Fame’s Al Leiter, Dick was said to be the second most dominating pitcher in Central baseball history.  He was a three-year starting, hard throwing lefty and power hitter.  Dick was also a three-year starting basketball star who consistently led in scoring and rebounding categories.

Carl Seaver (’61) Inducted 1991

An outstanding football player as a guard and linebacker, Carl played under Hall of Fame coach Joe Boyd and achieved All-Shore and All-County awards in 1961 as well as being named to the First Team All-State – Group I squad.  He received the Lineman of the Year award in 1961.  In track, Carl began his high school career by being a part of a freshman squad that placed first in the Long Branch and Penn Relays in the 440 and second in the 880 relays.  Under Hall of Fame coach, Bob Painter, Carl excelled by finishing first eight times in 1961 in the 400-meter while placing second at the Shore Conference meet and fifth in the States at Rutgers.  Carl went on to play football at the University of Southern Mississippi where he graduated. 

Bob Reutter (’62) Inducted 2003

During his four years at Central Regional, Bob excelled in many areas both academically and athletically.  Bob was the captain of the varsity baseball and football teams, while achieving All-County honors in both sports.  He was also a member of the varsity basketball team.  Bob left Central to attend William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri.  A four-year starter and captain for the varsity baseball team, Bob was selected All-American in 1966.   He was also a three-year starter for the varsity swim team.  Bob Reutter returned to Central where he served as a teacher and Supervisor for Health and Physical Education from 1969 until 1987.  Taking over as head baseball coach in 1988 from legendary baseball coach, Al Kunzman, Bob’s team won four Shore Conference championships and were a South Jersey – Group III finalist in 1999.  Bob Reutter was selected as Coach of the Year in 1994 and 1999.  His baseball jersey was retired in

Richie Norcross (’64) Inducted 1987

Richie was a two-time All-Star running back and defensive back in football.  He led a young Central team, who was undefeated in conference play, to the Class B football title in 1962.  He was not only Central’s top runner, but would throw from his halfback spot. Further, he was a sure tackle in the secondary often saving touchdowns. During his 1963 senior football season, he led Central’s infamous upset of Brick on Thanksgiving Day handing the Green Dragons their first home loss since 1959.   In basketball, Richie lettered for three years.  He was an All-Star, top scorer and assist man. 

Ed Shattuck, Jr. (’64) Inducted 1987

Central Regional High School’s first “great” runner and its first ever “state champion” in NJSIAA competition.  He was state champion twice as a State Group I & II Champion Cross Country runner and as South Jersey Cross Country Champion for 1963 through 1964. Ed attended Rutgers University and after he graduated he coached track in Toms River.  

Joseph Kostiha (’66) Inducted 1988

Joe is one of the best hitters and defensive first basemen ever to don a Central baseball uniform. Joe was a four-year varsity letterman and was the first to be honored with the coveted Most Valuable Player Award in 1966.  He attained Player of the Year status by county newspapers as well as received first team placement to All-State, All-Shore and All-County teams.  Joe went on to the University of Miami where he played varsity baseball. 

Armando “Butch” Cocci (’66) Inducted 1995

Butch lettered at football all of his four years at Central under Hall of Fame Coach Joe Boyd.  IN 1965, he co-captained the team, was First Team All-County and Second Team All-State tackle, offense and defense that year as well as receiving the game ball recognition for crucial victories against Lakewood and Brick.  Butch was a member of Central’s very first wrestling team under Hall of Fame Coach Jerry Golembeski.  As Central’s first heavyweight, he captained the squad between 1963 and 1966 and in 1966 he finished with a 12-1 record with 10 pins, 8 in the first period, and was runner up in the district championships and was awarded Most Valuable Wrestler.   Butch was also a member of Hall of Fame Coach Bob Painter’s track team.  He set a team shot put record in 1966.  He went on to attend Marshalltown Junior College in Iowa and then on to Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa.  At Parsons, he played NCAA Division I-A football as defensive end and wrestled as a heavyweight. Butch then played football for the Des Moines Vikings of the Midwest Pro Football League and for the Cedar Rapids Raiders.  In 1973, he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs of the NFL but was sidelined by a career ending knee injury.

Bob Breitenbach ('67) Inducted 2017

Bob graduated from Central in 1967. He was a four year letterman in football, excelling in the positions of halfback and defensive safety. Bob was named Team MVP and First Team All-County in his senior year while leading the county in scoring. Bob also earned a varsity letter in baseball playing catcher & center field for the Golden Eagles. Bob was drafted into the Army after high school and spent a year in Vietnam and upon return finished his remaining year at Fort Bragg, North Carolina in the position of sergeant. Bob played modified pitch softball in many leagues around Ocean County with Henry's Playland as his favorite team. In 1984, his team won the National Championship and bob was named MVP of the tournament. In 2015, Bob was inducted into the NJ Modified Pitch Softball Hall of Fame. Bob was a builder for 45 years and had his own business for 40 years. He retired in January 2017.

Lonnie Mattox (’68) Inducted 1987

First to ever start as a varsity basketball player all four years at Central Regional, he was an All-Star three of those years. His record of 49 points in one game stood in the Southern Regional Round Ball Tourney for 15 years.  His record for all-time points scored at Central stood for 18 years.  Lonnie also played football as a breakaway running back and lettered in track. 

Donald Whiteman ('69) Inducted 1988

Don played three years of varsity football as an end and defensive back for Coach Joe Boyd.  He received the coveted Most Valuable Player Award as well as Most Outstanding Lineman,

All-County, All-Shore and All-State – Group III awards.  Don also played basketball under Coach John Cameron where he was named M.V.P. and All-County.  Don further showed his talents by garnering Most Valuable Player recognition for varsity track.  Here, he excelled in the high jump, javelin and captured the Ocean County Champion status in the 440.

Larry Mattox ‘70 Inducted 1996

Larry graduated from Central in 1970 as a three-sport athlete participating in football, basketball and baseball.  As a basketball player, he was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player and named team captain.  Larry was named the team’s Most Valuable Player as a running back, was named to Second Team All-County as a defensive back and held the job of team captain. Larry’s accomplishments in baseball under the tutelage Coach Al Kunzman included being named to the First Team All-State and also received recognition as the team’s Most Valuable Player and was recipient of the Special Coaches Award for leadership and dedication. 

Pete Bell (’72) Inducted 1991

Said to be the best Central Regional football player of all time, he complemented Hall of Fame’s Robbie Keyes and John Kilmurray’s passing to make the 1971 unbeaten team so tough.  Pete was a great breakaway runner as well as a tough defensive back.  He also excelled as a point guard during two great winning basketball seasons in 1971 and 1972, for Hall of Fame coach John Cameron.  Pete went on to Seton Hall University and played semi-pro football in Baltimore. 

Rich Breitenbach (’72) Inducted 1993

Rich excelled for four varsity seasons for Hall of Fame Coach Boyd as fullback, halfback, linebacker and defensive end.  He was on board for the team’s Class C and Shore Conference Championships including that mystical 1971 undefeated season.  He received honors as a Second Team All-County defensive back in 1970, First Team All-County linebacker in 1971 and Second Team All-County fullback from WOBM. Rich also roamed the outfield and caught for baseball Hall of Fame Coach Kunzman, where he received Second Team All-County honors in 1972.  Rich garnered Central Regional’s Sportsman of the Year Award as a senior.  Rich went on to Polk Junior College in Florida where he played baseball.

Robbie Keyes (’72) Inducted 1987

The quarterback of Central’s undefeated championship team in 1971, he was rated #1 in the state, elected to the First Team All-State and as Shore Conference Player of the Year.  He was also named by the High School Coaches Association as an All-American.  Robbie led the Golden Eagles on a 16 game winning streak. He was a four-year letter winner in basketball and a 1,000-point scorer named to the All-County team. Rob also lettered in track and field where he specialized in field events of discus and shot put.  

John Kilmurray (’72) Inducted 1987

The outstanding receiver on the championship team in 1971, John also shined as a defensive back earning varsity letters for three years in football.  He carried his athletic skills to the basketball court as an exceptional playmaker on the 1971 and 1972 teams.  John was a four-year varsity letter winner playing at shortstop for some of Central’s best baseball teams. 

Nola White Grenley (’72) Inducted 1988

A truly gifted athlete, Nola excelled in field hockey at Central Regional.  She played inner and center positions and received Best Offense Award in 1972.  As a forward in basketball, she lettered for two years and received the Best Defense Award.  Nola was also honored by being chosen as Outstanding Female Athlete in 1971 and 1972.  She later had an outstanding athletic career in college playing field hockey, basketball and lacrosse.  She is now a physical education teacher at Lacey Township High School.  

Steve Ditchkus (’73) Inducted 1990

As a junior running back, Steve was one of the few underclassmen on Central’s greatest football team, the 1971 unbeaten Golden Eagles.  He lettered for three varsity seasons, was awarded All-Shore, All-County, Team M.V.P.  and honorably mentioned for All-State honors in 1972.  In basketball, he received All-County and Team M.V.P awards as a forward and guard for Coach John Cameron.  Steve played in four seasons for Coach Al Kunzman as an infielder.  His baseball honors included All-County, Second Team All-Shore, an honorable mention in All-State and was team captain.  He was also Central’s Male Athlete of the Year in 1973.  Steve continued on to play varsity baseball at Temple University.  

Pam Boyd Petroski (’74) Inducted 1987

The only woman athlete at Central to win 12 varsity letters, Pam starred in field hockey, basketball and track. She was named Athlete of the Year for two years, MVP in field hockey for two years, MVP in basketball and track in her senior year and All-County and Shore Conference Champion.  Most recently, Pam was a member of the 1984 Olympic Team for women’s handball. 

Gene Drumright (’75) Inducted 1990

Although a three-sport standout, Gene is best known for his extraordinary abilities on the baseball diamond.  He gained three varsity letters during his baseball career at Central, which included M.V.P. in 1974, All-Shore Conference by the Asbury Park Press in 1974 and 1975 and the Daily Observer’s First Team All-County in 1973, 1974, and 1975.  He was team captain and named Second Team All-State in 1975 by the New York Daily News.    Gene also played guard for Hall of Fame basketball coach, John Cameron, and was team captain in 1975.  On the gridiron, Gene was an outstanding defensive halfback.  He was also a wide receiver during his three varsity years that gained him First Team All-County by the Daily Observer for 1974 and 1975, First Team Offense by the Asbury Park Press, and overall Athlete of the Year in 1975 by the Daily Observer. Gene continued on to Elon College in North Carolina where he played varsity baseball all four years and received M.V.P. in 1978, All District 26 – NAIA in 1977 and voted best defensive player all four years.  Gene is now teaching and coaching at Lakewood High School were he is the Varsity Baseball Coach and Varsity Boys Soccer Coach.    

John A. Roth, Jr. (’76) Inducted 1988

John was one of the most valued wrestlers in Central history. Beginning with an M.V.P. award for his freshman year, he attained every possible accolade bestowed on a wrestler.  John had the most takedowns, pins and team points in the 122-lb weight class in his sophomore and junior years, establishing new school records.  As a senior in the 129-lb weight class, he received the very first varsity M.V.P. award.  He was also the first two-time district champion, placed second for the region and was twice voted All-County by the Daily Observer and All-Shore Wrestler by the Asbury Park Press.   

Greg Allen (’77) Inducted 1989

A three-sport standout and team captain, Greg was First Team All-Shore, All-County and leading pass receiver in 1975 – 1976.  He was also Central football’s M.V.P.  In basketball, he attained All-County status.  Greg excelled in baseball where he was recognized as an All-Star by the New York Daily News, Second Team All-State and high school All-American status.  He also achieved recognition as First Team All-Shore and All-County as well as receiving the team’s coveted M.V.P. award.  After graduating in 1977, Greg went on to Cornell University and became a starter for all four years on Cornell’s varsity baseball team and set four career batting records. 

Patty Fortus (’78) Inducted 1999

Patty lettered in three varsity sports at Central Regional.  She was named Most Valuable Defensive Player on the 1977 B South Championship team in field hockey and was selected to the Asbury Park Press All-Shore Field Hockey Team as well as “Who’s who of American High School Athletes”.  Her recognition as Most Valuable Player continued in the basketball and track arena while maintaining an academic ranking of 7th in the class and membership in the National Honor Society.  Patty attended High Point University on an academic and athletic scholarship.  A four-year starter for High Point University, Patty was selected to play in the National Indoor Field Hockey Tournament and finished in the top ten in the nation.  Since graduation from High Point, Patty has utilized her talents and skills to help other students attain their potential.  She taught in Winston-Salem,North Carolina and is now a part of Central’s faculty.  Her genuine concern and talent has earned her a spot in the Central Regional Hall of Fame.

Kurt Leiter ('79) Inducted 2012

Kurt Leiter graduated from Central Regional in 1979. During his junior and senior years he was selected as a 1st team All-State pitcher and was also named WOBM Athlete of the Year. He went on to star at Oklahoma State University where he was selected as a 1st team All Big 8 Conference pitcher in 1982. His career pitching record at OSU was 16 wins and 3 losses. In 1982 his teams were ranked in the top 5 in the nation. Kurt pitched in the college world series for two years. He signed a professional contract in 1982 with the Baltimore Orioles minor league AA affiliate. His team won the 1982 AA Championship.  

Billy Morris (’79) Inducted 1989

Bill was picked as Defensive Player of the Year by the Asbury Park Press for an unprecedented two years in a row, 1977 and 1978.  He also played in the first ever All-State game at Rutgers as well as in the All-Shore Classic.  In addition, Bill was picked for the All-Decade Team of the 70’s.  Bill received All-Shore, All-County, team captain and M.V.P. status.  Also a captain for the baseball team, Bill starred at third base for Hall of Fame coach, Al Kunzman.  He helped key Central to the Shore Class A-South Title in 1977.  Bill went on to play football and graduate from James Madison University in Virginia.  

Wilma W. Reyes-Carrozza (’79) Inducted 1996

Wilma was an outstanding soccer player for the Golden Eagles.  She participated in soccer for three years, two of which she was on offense. As a sophomore, she was named to First Team All-County and First Team All-Shore. Wilma, as a junior, was again named to First Team All-County and First Team All-Shore.  As a senior, Wilma received recognition as Most Valuable Player and WOBM’s Woman of the Year.  Again, as a senior, Wilma was named to First Team All-County and First Team All-Shore.  She also was named to the First Team All-State in her senior year.   Wilma continued her education at Castleton State College where she holds the school record for most goals scored.  During her soccer career at Castleton, Wilma was a starter on varsity soccer as a freshman and was named Most Valuable Player as a sophomore.

1980’s Golden Eagles Athletes

Al Aires (’80) Inducted 1988

A superb three sports star, Al was First Team All-County and All-Shore in football, excelling as both linebacker and flanker.  He was also named Most Valuable Player and W.O.B.M Defensive Player of the Year.  In wrestling, he was a two-time district and regional champion finishing fourth statewide in 1979.  In 1980, Al was District 25’s Most Outstanding Wrestler and was twice recognized as All-County, All-Shore as well as high school

All-American.  He rounded out his high school sports seasons playing second base under Hall of Fame baseball coach, Al Kunzman, where he was voted First Team All-County and received MVP honors.  Al Aires currently is an Assistant Principal within the Jackson Township School District and a member of the Central Regional Board of Education.

James "House" Dickhaus ('80) Inducted 2011

James played and earned Varsity letters in Football and Basketball but his passion was Track & Field. He won numerous awards for his outstanding performances during his 3 years as a Varsity standout but his crowning achievement was capturing the NJ State Championship in the Javelin Relay at Rutgers University during his Senior year.  He was selected as an All-County and All-Shore  performer.  He won First Place medals his Junior and Senior year at the Shore Conference Track & Field Championship.  In his last 2 years, James broke the javelin record 7 times and in his final year was undefeated in the javelin and amassed 288 varsity points.  James was honored by the Island Heights Volunteer Fire Co. by receiving the Most Valuable Athlete Award in 1980.  The United States Marine Corp. also honored Jim by presenting him with their Scholar Athlete Award in 1980. 

Phyllis Angellella Aires ('81) Inducted 2016

Is a 1981 Graduate at Central Regional. In softball, Phyllis's contributions helped the team earn its third and fourth consecutive A-South Championships, winning an Ocean County Championship in her senior year. In 1980, she was nominated as a female athlete of the week.  Her talents in softball resulted in being selected as first team all-county, and first team all-shore in both 1980 and 1981.  Phyllis was selected as third team group 4.  She graduated from Georgian Court University with a special education degree and masters in supervision. Phyllis has been teaching in the Central Regional School System since 1986. 

Stacy Hall (’81) Inducted 1987

Stacy was an outstanding football player who lettered for three years amassing 2,323 yards rushing.  During his senior year, he received the coveted M.V.P. Award and was named to First Team All-State, All-Shore and All-County by the New York Daily News, Asbury Park Press and Ocean County Daily Observer, respectively.  Stacy also lettered as a guard in basketball and as a sprinter in track and field.  He went on to Colgate where he graduated and played four years as a running back.        

 

Karen Hughes (’81) Inducted 1987

Karen was a standout that lettered in softball and basketball for three years.  In softball, during her sophomore year, she batted a team high .488 average while leading Central to its second straight conference title.  Her junior year saw another title while she batted a .461 average and led the team in RBIs, doubles and runs scored. She was then voted First Team All-County by the Ocean County Daily Observer and Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year by the Berkeley-Lacey Lions Club.  In her senior year, she received First Team honors by both the Asbury Park Press and the Ocean County Daily Observer.  She batted a .493 average while Central copped its fourth straight A-South Championship.  Karen’s stats were equally as impressive for basketball where she received All-Shore and All-County honors as well for being the first female to score 1,000 points.  She graduated from Montclair State majoring in Physical Education and now is the Athletic Director in the Lacey Township school system

Mark Leiter (’81) Inducted 1994

Mark joined his brother Al Leiter, in the Hall of Fame.  The California Angels pitcher was Central’s number two pitcher behind another Hall-of-Famer and former major leaguer, Jeff Musselman, in 1981.  Mark received All-Shore and All-County honors during his varsity years and pitched a no-hitter.  He received a MVP Award and pitched two no-hitters while at Connors State College in Oklahoma.

Mark was initially drafted in 1983, fourth round, by the Baltimore Orioles and reached the majors in 1985.  He signed with the Yankees in 1989 and was then traded to Detroit where he received the Topps All-Star Rookie Pitcher of the Year for the American League.

Cyndi Jeck Murphy (’81) Inducted 2000

Cyndi was an outstanding track and field athlete here at Central.  In 1980, as a junior, Cyndi Jeck received first place in the 100-meter hurdles and the long jump at the Ocean County Championship Meet.  That same year at the Monmouth/Ocean County Championship Meet, Cyndi received second place in the 100-meter hurdles and third place in the long jump.  She continued that year with place status in the Shore Conference Championship Meet, the State Sectionals –Group 4 Meet, the State Finals – Group 4 Meet and was recognized as a member of the All Ocean County Team with a first place in the team hurdles.  She attained first place in the long jump and second place in the 100-meter hurdles in the Ocean County Championship Meet.  At the Shore Conference Championship Meet, Cyndi received first place in the 100-meter hurdles and long jump.  At the State Sectionals Group 4 Meet, she received second place in the 100-meter hurdles and long jump behind Olympian Carol Lewis.  Cyndi holds two school records, the 100-meter hurdles at 14.8 and the long jump at 17’10”. Cyndi also holds Monmouth/Ocean records in the 100-meter hurdles and shuttle hurdle relay with three other team members.  The team tri-captain and MVP, Cyndi scored over 200 points in 14 dual meets and received the Diane Chapman Memorial Award given by the Shore Track and Field Officials for the Areas.

Jeff Musselman (’81) Inducted 1987

Jeff started his career at Central when he lettered in baseball, football, and basketball.  He was named to the First Team All-State, All-Shore and All-County as a pitcher, as well as All-County for basketball and football.  He continued to pitch his Harvard University team to two Eastern League championships.  He successfully moved on to the Major League as a pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays.            

Carlos Hanze (’82) Inducted 1988

One of the best long distance runners ever to come out of Central Regional, Carlos forged an indelible record in the history of Central track.  Involved in track for all three seasons every year, he received awards for All-State in 1980-81, All-Shore in 1980-82 and All-County in 1980-81 as well as honorable mentions for All-American. Carlos, who served as team captain, also attained recognition as county champion in the 1500-meter and 3200-meter category and as shore champion in the 3200-meter category in 1982.  He went on to the University of Pennsylvania.  

Diane L. Hardie-Ridenour (’82) Inducted 1996

Diane was a standout field hockey player.  As a freshman, she was named Most Valuable Player and played in two varsity state tournaments.  As a sophomore, she was Ocean County’s leading scorer, with 27 goals and 1 assist.  She was named the Most Valuable Offensive Player and was named to First Team All-County and First Team All-Shore, as well as Second Team All-State as a sophomore.  As a junior, Diane was the second leading scorer in Ocean County with 27 goals and 6 assists. During that year, she was also named to First Team All-County and First Team All-Shore.  As a senior, Diane was the second leading scorer in Ocean County with 31 goals and 15 assists.  She was further named Most Valuable Player.  Diane again made First Team All-County and First Team All-Shore, as well as Second Team All-State as a senior.  She was also recognized by WOBM on its All-County team.  Diane was awarded the Berkeley-Lions Club Outstanding Athlete Award.  She completed her high school career with 75 career goals.  Diane continued her soccer career in college where she was named Most Valuable Player in both her freshman and sophomore years and was also recognized as Most Valuable Player on the Region XIX All Tournament Team.  As a sophomore, Diane was on the NJCAA All Conference Team and was named All-American.

Al Leiter (’84) Inducted 1989

He is probably the best-known athlete in Central’s sports history.  During his illustrious three-year varsity career for Central baseball, Al established the following school records:

·       Most games pitched (35)

·       Most innings pitched (230)

·       Most strikeouts (356)

·       Most wins (26)

·       Best ERA (.094)

·       Most shutouts (14)

·       Most no-hitters (4)

·       Best winning percentage for a season (13-0-1)

He also made First Team All-State, All-Shore and All-County in 1983 and 1984.  His most memorable game came against Wall Township where he pitched 13 shutout innings, striking out 32 batters and ending in a 0-0 tie.  Al was a second-round draft choice by the New York Yankees in 1984 and arrived in the major leagues winning his first appearance vs. Milwaukee in September 1987.

Dave Kennett ('84) Inducted 1994

A three-year varsity shortstop, Dave helped the Eagles Baseball to a State Championship in 1984.  He was named to the 1st Team Group III All-State and 3rd Team Overall All-State.  Dave also received All-County and All-shore honors. 

Dave also shined on the gridiron as middle linebacker, guard, and punter/kicker.  Here too he received All-County and All-Shore Awards.

Dave went on to play baseball at Brookdale and was All- Conference while at James Madison University.

Agnes Whitfield ('84) Inducted 2014

Agnes was a three sport varsity athlete at Central playing field hockey, basketball and softball. Captain of her field hockey team, Agnes received the Grace Manning Award, was second team all county and 1st team all division. As captain, Agnes led her basketball team to B South championships. She was a "South All Star Player," 1st team all county, 1st team AP Press, Cable 8 all star and WOBM super 7. This two time captain and MVP in softball had a batting average of .366, all time put-outs with 431 for a fielding percentage of .957 and offensive and defensive player of the year. Also, 1st team all county , 1st team all group ll, and 3rd team all state. At Ocean County College, Agnes was an NJCAA field hockey all american, 1st team all region XIX, and all tourn national team. Agnes has a B.A in Health/PE and is the head field hockey coach at St. Rose High School.  

Brad Parks (’85) Inducted 1993

Brad was a standout soccer player and like his brother, Matt, excelled at wrestling.  In soccer, Brad was tri-captain for three years and gathered four varsity letters.  He received the Hustle Award in 1981 and broke the record for assists with 14 and he placed Second Team All-Shore in 1982. Brad became Player of the Year and placed First Team All-County in 1983.  He then received MVP honors as well as Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Shore in 1984.  He ended up with 37 career goals and 37 career assists.  Brad wrestled in the 158-170lb range for three varsity seasons and was team tri-captain.  He started out winning the Hawk Classic in 1983 and 1984.  Brad also took third place in District 24 in 1984 and 1985.  Again in 1985, he placed second in Region 6 and was voted Most Valuable Wrestler for both 1984 and in 1985.  He had an undefeated dual season in 1984, going 10-0, and had most wins and most team points in 1985.  He wrestled in the states and received the Outstanding Wrestler Award for the 1984-1985 season.

Michael Morin (85) Inducted 2014

Michael Morin class of 1985 was a four year varsity basketball starter at Central Regional. During his career, Mike became a member of the 1,000 points scorer club. He served as team captain both his junior and senior years. Mike received the honor of being selected to the all-shore team is junior and seniors years. He was also selected WOBM, all division and "all clear channel 8" 1st teams. Mike was named as WOBM's athlete of the moth his senior year, and was awarded team MVP both his junior and senior years. Mike was a key player for Central Regional helping the team achieve it's first basketball state playoff game win in history.  

Harrie Garris ('86) Inducted 2017

Harrie, class of 1986, was a three year varsity basketball starter at Central Regional playing both power forward and point guard. During his career, Harrie became a member of the 1000 points scorer clab. In both his junior and senior years, Harrie served as Team Captain, named Team MVP, and received the honor of being selected to the All-Shore First Team. He was selected to the WOBM First Team, named WOBM Player of the Year, All Clear Channel Eight First Team and named Second Team All-State all in his senior year. At Central Regional, Harrie ranked second in all-time individual career points, 1515, career rebounds, 708, and career free throws made 321. Harrie went on to Monmouth University and played basketball on a scholarship.

Cortlyn Golembeski (’86) Inducted 1992

Cory left her mark at Central by her achievements on the field hockey team.  After four varsity years, she earned the coveted Grace Manning MVP Award for 1984 and 1985.  Cory also participated in winter and spring track and was ultimately the recipient of Central’s Female Athlete of the Year for 1984 – 1985 by the Berkeley-Lacey Lions Club.  Cory continued her academics and athletic prowess at William Smith College where she attained Second Team All-American and All-Region honors in 1988 and 1989, plus First Team All-Region in 1988 in field hockey.  She also received the team’s coach award and captained her college 1988 lacrosse team. 

Tim Morris (’86) Inducted 1994

One of the most explosive running backs ever to don a Central Uniform, Tim garnered the Best Back Award and MVP in 1985.  He also receive three varsity letters, three Cable 8 Player-of-the-Game and their Player-of-the-Year Award.  Tim was named to the All-County squad and captained in 1984 and 1985.

Tim contributed to Central Wrestling and Track, but also excelled on the baseball diamond as a catcher.  Tim was the recipient of four varsity baseball letters, the prestigious John Hodalich Memorial Award, Best Hitter Award and held the single season record for homers.  He captained in 1985 and 1986 and made All-County Honors.

Amanda Dafeldecker Bialas (’87) Inducted 1995

A standout field hockey player, Amanda helped to lead the Golden Eagles to a state and conference championship in 1986 and joins two fellow team mates, Jackie George and Jen Kleva, into the Hall of Fame. During that auspicious season, Amanda was voted First Team All-County by the Newark Star Ledger and Daily Observer as well as receiving the defensive player MVP. She also received All-County honors by the Daily Observer in 1985. Amanda further shined at soccer where she lettered for all four years and was team captain her junior and senior year.  She led the team in scoring in 1986 and 1987 and was fifth and eighth in the county, respectively.  Amanda also received Most Valuable Offensive Player honors in 1986 as well as the coveted coaches award in 1985.

Vinnie Frulio (’87) Inducted 1992

A three-sport standout, Vinnie is best remembered for his achievements on Coach Kunzman’s baseball team. He began his career by garnering MVP honors with a .482 batting average during his freshman year.  He was the very first recipient of the team’s coach award and voted First Team All-State – Group III by the Newark Star Ledger in 1987.  He was also named to First Team All-County by WOBM, the Daily Observer and All-Shore by the Asbury Park Press.  Vinnie had a varsity career batting average of .356, a record 1,000 fielding average and voted varsity MVP in 1987.  On the gridiron, Vinnie was a three-year letterman and senior year captain.  He was First Team All-Conference and All-County place kicker in 1984 and 1985.  Vinnie was also a three-year letterman and senior year captain for the basketball team. Vinnie went on to Glassboro State where he had a four-year varsity baseball career batting average of .353.  There he was First Team All-Conference, All-Region NCAA Division III, and named to the NJAC All Star squad in 1990 and 1991. 

Dee Duffy Lieter (’87) Inducted 1992

Dee Duffy will always be remembered for her outstanding play as pitcher and infielder for another of Central’s great championship softball teams. Lettering all four years, she was the team MVP in 1985 and again in 1987, All-County in 1984 and 1987, and 1986 Ocean County Tournament MVP.  Dee also received the Overall Softball Player of the Year in 1987. She was featured as the Daily Observer’s “Ocean’s Own” while finishing up her pitching career with a record 48 wins.  Dee was also MVP and team captain for Coach Vince Kelly’s girls’ basketball team for 1986-1987.  She went on to receive softball MVP honors in 1990 at Ocean County College and played soccer at Franklin Pierce College. 

Keith Reardon ('87) Inducted 2019

Keith Reardon is a 1987 graduate of Central Regional. He was a 3 year Varsity Starter and two time captain to the Golden Eagles Baseball Team.  He was a multi-position player, starting as pitcher, 1st Base, and 3rd Base.  During 1986, He lead the team to an Ocean Count Tournament Championship.  Offensively , Keith set a single season  school record for hits (42), Runs (31), stolen bases (30), and was named team MVP.  He also received 1st All Conference and All County as a pitcher.  During his senior season he earned 1st team All Conference, All County, and All Shore honors as well as 2nd Team All State-All Groups.  Keith graduated Central holding 7 school records including Career Batting Average (.409), Most Hits (105), Most Runs (86), Stolen Bases (70) and Ranked 2nd All Time in game pitched (33).  Keith went on to play for Fairleigh Dickinson University for four seasons for the NCAA Division 1 Knights.  

Jennifer Kleva Salt (’87) Inducted 1992

Jen was a three-sport standout.  In field hockey, she was the 1985 MVP and achieved First Team honors for All-Shore and

All-County in 1985 and 1986.  Jen was also a recipient of the Grace Manning Memorial Award in 1986 and helped her team to state championship status that year.  In winter track, she was MVP for the 1985-1986 and 1986-1987 seasons.  She also attained First Team All-County honors for those same years.  In spring track, she again was MVP in 1987 and received honors as Most Valuable Runner in 1983 and First Team All-County in 1987.  All in all, Jen accumulated eleven varsity letters, received seventy-five track & field medals, was the Board of Education’s Outstanding Senior for 1986-1987 and received the U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete Award, also in 1987.  Jen went on to participate in the same sports at Springfield College, Massachusetts, excelling in field hockey.  There she graduated in 1991 with a B.S. in Physical Education.

Jackie George Walters (’87) Inducted 1994

A standout Field Hockey player, Jackie helped to lead the Golden Eagles to a State Championship in 1986.  She was also voted 1st Team All-Shore, 1st Team All-Ocean in addition t 1st Team All-state by the Newark Star Ledger.  Jackie received accolades as offensive MVP that same year as well as garnering a spot as an Asbury Park Press “Player-of-the Week.”

Jackie further shined as a long distance runner for four years on Central’s Varsity Track Team.  She was team captain in 1986 and 1987, awarded “Most Valuable Distance Runner for the same years.  She helped lead her team to a Shore Conference Class B Championship.  She also placed 5th in South Jersey Groups in the 800.  Additionally, Jackie captained her Winter Track Team in 1986 and 1987 where she also lettered for four years.

Jackie went on to excel in Field Hockey at Catawba College,NC, where she was the Team Captain in 1990, helping her team to capture the Deep South Championship and made the “NAIA” Southeastern National Team in 1991. 

Matt Parks ('88) Inducted 1993

A three-sport standout, Matt put his indelible mark on Central sports history with his wrestling accomplishments.  Earning four varsity letters, he earned First Team honors All-Shore, All-County, District Championship and Regional Championship in 1987 and 1988.  Matt was second in the state in 1988 and ended up the most winning wrestler in Central’s history with 99.  Matt shined on the gridiron by placing Second Team All-State, First Team All-Shore and All-County as a defensive tackle in 1987.  He received MVP honors as well.  Matt also threw shot put for Central track earning four varsity letters.  

Charles Chevalier (’89) Inducted 1994

Exemplary in both academics and athletics, Chip was a three-year football standout as quarterback.  He received All-shore and All-County honors from the Asbury Park Press, Daily Observer and Adelphia Cable, as well as being team captain for the 1988 B-South Champion Team.  Chip was also the top county passer with a thousand plus yards.

In basketball, Chip garnered All-Star status from the Times Beacon and Adelphia Cable as well as captained the team to its first B-South Title in 1989.  He was also awarded best defensive player for 1988-99.  As a three-year varsity baseball player, Chip achieved Second Team All-StarCounty honors by the Times Beacon.

During his senior year, he was further honored by being selected to the Ocean County Observer Boys Scholar Athletic Team. 

Chip then went on to play Football at Swarthmore College where he graduated in 1993.  There he attained Division III All-American status as well as All-Conference while leading the Centennial Conference in total offense in 1990 and 1992.  He holds college records for total yards, pass attempts and completions, and touchdowns.    

Christian Dreyer (’89) Inducted 1998

Christian participated in track, wrestling and soccer.  It was in soccer that Christian excelled.  His junior year, he led the team to the South Jersey – Group III championship.  He was voted First Team in All-Conference, All-County and All-Shore.  He was voted Second Team All-State.  As a senior captain, Christian was voted First Team All-Everything.  He was recognized by the State Soccer Association as one of the top players in the entire state.  According to his coach, Rob Bechtloff, Christian was a model student and a very talented player who always put team goals in front of individual goals. 

Kelly McGowan ('89) Inducted 2012

Kelly McGowan graduated from Central Regional in 1989. She was a three sport star athlete in field hockey, basketball, and softball. Kelly had a strong love for softball, and had a career batting average of .482 which included 134 hits, 134 runs scored, 114 RBI's, 15 doubles, 13 triples 7 home runs, and 56 base on balls.  She was part of three championship teams. Her team won the Shore Conference Class B South Divisional Championship, the O.C Tournament Championship and the NJSIAA South Jersey Group lll Tournament Championship. Kelly was chosen as first team All-Shore at short stop by the Asbury Park Press and first team All-County by the star ledger.  

Karin Kane DiMichele ('89) Inducted 2014

Karin Kane DiMichele was a graduate of the class of 1989. Karin lettered on the girls varsity basketball team all four years and was team captain her junior and senior years. During her senior year, she became a member of the 1000 points score club. Karin was also awarded the MVP player award her junior and senior years. She accumulated 957 rebounds during he career. Karin played varsity tennis all four years, receiving the most improved player award, along with being the captain of the tennis team her senior year. Karin continued her education with a full scholarship for basketball and tennis at Adelphi University where she earned her bachelor's degree in business administration. She then attended Monmouth University where she earned her Masters degree in Criminal Justice. In 2011, Karin was sworn in as the Police Chief  for Berkeley Township Police Department.

Keith Applegate (’90) Inducted 1995

A three-sport standout, Keith put a mark both on Central’s gridiron and baseball diamond.  After helping his team win a B-South championship in 1988, Keith was named All-Conference quarterback, outstanding defensive back and Second Team All-County quarterback in 1989.  Keith lettered for 3 years after being named Freshman Offensive MVP in 1986. He also led the county in intersections and was Team Player of the Week for Offense, Defense and Special Teams, all in 1989.  In baseball, he lettered for all four years.  He was awarded the team’s Bulldog Award in 1988 and was honored by being awarded All-Conference catcher and Most Improved Player in 1989.  In 1990, Keith was named MVP, received the coveted coaches award, again named All-Conference catcher, and named Second Team All-Shore catcher and Third Team All-State.   In 1988-1989, Keith helped the Golden Eagles basketball team to a B-South championship and was ultimately awarded Class Athlete in 1990.  Keith went on to catch at Lynchburg College, Virginia in 1991 and at CanisiusCollege, Buffalo, NY for 1992 through 1994 where he helped Canisius win the Metro Atlantic Conference title in 1994.  Keith was also named All-MAAC Catcher for 1992, 1993 and 1994, making him the only Canisius player to ever be so named three years in a row, as well as New York State Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Catcher in 1992.  Additionally, Keith turned in the best fielding percentage, 1.000, ever for a catcher at Canisius in 1992 (146 chances without an error) and was fifth on their all time hit list with 102 career hits. 

Jerry Frulio (90) Inducted 1995

Jerry joins a distinguished list of Central Hall of Fame Baseball legends as one of the best ever to don a Golden Eagles baseball uniform. In 1988, Jerry, as a sophomore was named First Team B-South by the Asbury Park Press and WOBM, Second Team All-County by the Newark Star Ledger and Third Team All-Shore by the Asbury Park Press.  He also received the team’s Most Valuable Player Award, the coveted Coaches’ Award and the RBI/On Base Average Award.     In 1989, Jerry was named to the 2nd Team All-Shore and 1st Team B-South by the Asbury Park Press.  He was also named 1st Team All-County again by WOBM, the Daily Observer, Newark Star Ledger and Asbury Park Press.  Jerry that year again received Team MVP and the RBI/On Base Average Awards. In 1990, Jerry helped the Golden Eagles with a 20-5 record, clinch the B-South Championship and was named Second Team All-State, First Team All-Shore Conference, and First Team B-South.  He again received the team’s RBI/On Base Average Award as well as the Larry D’Zio, Sr. Award for the O.C.T.’s “Outstanding Hitter.”  Jerry also left Central holding team records in career batting average (.410), stolen bases (78), walks (52), and for single season stolen bases (38).  Jerry went on to George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, and played for four seasons for the NCAA Division I Patriots.

Jermaine Clay (’90) Inducted 1998

Jermaine played varsity basketball all four years of high school at Central Regional.  Jermaine was the MVP his sophomore, junior and senior years in basketball.  He was selected to the All-County basketball team his sophomore, junior and senior years. Jermaine was selected to the All-State team as a senior.  His coaches remember him as a leader and role model who scored 2,100 points in high school.  He graduated from Stockton State College and was selected All-Conference in college both his junior and senior years. While at college, Jermaine broke all scoring records at Stockton State College.

Willie Jacobs ('90) Inducted 2013

Willie Jacobs Jr. graduated from Central Regional in 1990. WIllie was an outstanding three sport athlete at Central Regional, playing football, wrestling, and track & field. He was a member of the 1988 football team the won the B-South championship, beating Lacey Township. Willie rushed for over 1,000 yards two years in a row, and was named all B-South his junior and senior year, and 2nd team All-County. He wrestled 189, and his team won B-South two years in a row. WIllie started all four years as a free safety at the College of New Jersey. The team won the NJAC Championship two years. In 2005 Willie was named teacher of the year for Central Regional, and has dedicated countless hours community service. Willie coaches football, wrestling, and middle school track & field at Central Regional and in 2013 was named the head football coach.

Carl Seaver ('91) Inducted 1991

Carl Seaver was Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1991. He was a guard and linebacker under Hall of Fame coach Joe Boyd. Carl received All-County and All-Shore awards and was named to the first team All-State group 1 in 1961 and was honored as "Lineman of the year." During spring tack, Carl excelled in both the 440 and the 880 relay, and as a freshman won the Long Branch and Penn Relays. In 1961 he placed 2nd in the Shore and 5th in the State in the 400m. Carl continued his education and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi where he played football. 

Michael Dillard (’92) Inducted 2000

Mike started all four years at Central Regional on the varsity basketball team and went to the Shore Conference Championship in 1992.  Mike was named the Defensive Player of the Year for the basketball team. Mike also played three years on the football team who also were Shore Conference champions in 1988.  Mike was named to the Ocean/Monmouth Football Dream Team.  In the track and field arena, Mike received a varsity letter all four years of his high school career.  He served as co-captain of the track team for two years.  In 1989, the track team was the Shore Conference Champions.  Mike’s individual accomplishments in track and field at Central include being the Ocean County champion in the 400-meter and long jump in 1991 and Ocean County champion in the 400-meter in 1992.  He won four medals in the Shore Conference Championship in the 100-meter, 200-meter, relay and long jump.  He was a State Sectional Champion with a silver medal in the 400-meter in 1992, as well as a State Group Champion with a bronze medal in the same year.  Mike bronze medaled at the Meet of Champions also in 1992. Mike’s school records are held in the 100-meter at 10.8, the 200-meter at 22.4, the 400-meter at 48.2 and the long jump at 21’8”.  Upon graduating from Central, Mike received a scholarship to Seton Hall University in track. At Seton Hall, he received three varsity letters in track. In 1996, Mike received a fourth place in the Big East Championship in the 400-meter.  In 1995, he was first in the 4X400 at the IC4A and first in the Big East Championship in the 4X400.  In 1997, Mike ran against Michael Johnson in the Olympic Trails Meet and took sixth place.  At the Penn Relays, Mike took the gold medal in the medley.  

Chris Alan Gnehm ('92) Inducted 2017

Chris Gnehm is a 1992 graduate of Central Regional. Chris was a varsity starter in goal his junior and senior seasons for the golden eagles. Chris earned First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Shore, First Team All-State Group 3. He was also named to the prestigious First Team All-State being recognized as one of the top two goalkeepers in the state his senior season. He was the first Golden Eagle's soccer player to earn this honor. Chris attended Averett College where he was a four year starter and three year captain. He holds VaSid records for 213 saves in a season and career 678. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Education. After college, Chris began his college coaching career and is currently the head women's soccer coach at Palm Beach Atlantic University. He lives in Jupiter, Florida with wife Tiffany and their son Bodhi. 

Steve Stout ('92) Inducted 2004

Steven Stout is a 1992 graduate of Central Regional High School.  He was a 4 year letter winner in Swimming.  He was swim team captain all 4 years, proving to be an outstanding leader from the get go. Steve was with the swim team from its inception in 1989, setting all but one school record in his Freshman year. He set the standard for those who followed.  Steve was one of Ocean’s Own, a 10th place qualifier in the N.J. State Champs, a State qualifier 3 years in a row for the 500 yard Free and an All County Swimmer.  Steve went on to swim in college at Pittsburgh, Clemson and North Carolina State. Steve also played 3 years of High School Baseball, and 2 years of Soccer, earning Varsity status for each of his years as well.  Steve has since returned to his alma mater as a physical education teacher and coaches all 3 sports. He is Central Regional’s Head Boys Swim Coach, Head Girls Softball Coach, and Middle School Boys Soccer Coach.

Lauren Wagner ('92) Inducted 2009

Lauren Wagner graduated Central Regional High School, and was inducted in 2009. Lauren participated in field hockey, basketball, and softball. By her sophomore year she made varsity basketball and softball, and continued to play throughout high school.  She also made the JV field hockey team her sophomore year, and by her junior year she made varsity field hockey.  During her senior year she was the varsity field hockey captain and MVP WOBM all star all-county. Lauren was also the varsity basketball Newark Star Ledger of the Week.  In 1992, Lauren was the WOBM athlete of the year and WOBM player of the year for softball. She was also the softball Ocean County female athlete of the year, and received outstanding female athlete in the Shore Asbury Park Press. 

Erika Applegate-Walton ('94) Inducted 2017

Erika is a 1994 graduate of Central. She was a 4 year varsity starter in softball playing second base, third base, and catcher. During those 4 years, she was a Second Team All-State selection, and twice named to Second Team All-Shore and All-County. Erika's career stats include 94 hits, 9 doubles, 9 triples, 8 home runs, and 74 RBIs. She had a career batting average of .318 and fielding average of .948. Erika led CRHS to three consecutive B-South Championships, an Ocean County Tournament Championship in which she was the MVP, and a Shore Conference title. Erika played softball at Monmouth University where she was a tro time all NEC selection, Second Team All-ECAC Region and Team Captain. In 1998, Erika was a nominee for MU Woman of the Year. While at Monmouth she had a career batting average of .338 with 188 hits, 27 doubles, 20 triples, 8 home runs, and 106 RBIs. Erika is among the career stat leaders at Monmouth in runs scored, RBIs, triples, and walks. Erika is currently a physical therapist.

Jason Pozo ('94) Inducted 2013

Jason Pozo graduated from Central Regional in 1994. Jason's hard work and dedication helped him rise to the top in three sports. As a football quarterback, he won MVP in 1993. In basketball Jason led his team to Divisional Championships in 1992 and 1994. In 1994, he won the Kerwin award for Jersey Shore Player of the Year and finished as a 1,000 point scorer (1,131). Jason lettered ass four years in baseball and helped lead his team to three divisional titles (1992-1994). During 1992, Jason hit .494 and was honored with MVP, 1st team all-county and 2nd team all-shore accolades. He finished his high school career with a record 114 hits, earned MVP, 1st all-county and all-shore. He was drafted in the 27th round by the Atlanta Braves. Jason went on to play baseball at Northwood University in Florida and signed as a free-agent with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1997. 

John Tice ('94) inducted 2010

 John Tice and his team won the 1994 B-South Championship for football, as well as won 1 state playoff game.  He was all state for both football and basketball, and joined the 1000 point basketball club with 1,337 points. In 1995 the boys basketball team won 1 state playoff game. After graduating from Central, John continued his career in basketball and played for Fairfield University men's Division l basketball team. The team won the MAAC Championship which allowed them to go to the NCAA tournament as the 16th seed against the #1 seed North Carolina, but lost 82-74. John transfered to Division l Central Connecticut. That team won their NEC championship game placing them #15 in the NCAA tournament. They played #2 Iowa State loosing 88-78. John was featured in ESPN magazine as the pre-season player of the year for the NEC Conference.   

Dana Kennett Castellano ('95) inducted 2010

Dana graduated Central in 1995, and was inducted in 2010. Throughout her high school sports career,  she earned 12 varsity letters, and 8 team MVP awards. In 1992, Dana was awarded rookie of the year, and in 1994, defensive player of the year, as well as first team all-county softball for the years 1994 and 1995. She was also on the first team all state group lll, and second team all state all groups. In 1995, she was Ocean County tournament MVP, and Ocean County observer-oceans own, as well as the Ocean County Athletic Directors Sportsmanship awards. As for academics, she was senior of the month, and homecoming queen. After graduating Central, Dana went to Brookdale Community College for 1996 - 1997 and played softball.  She was the region 19 player of the year and received honorable mention All American Division 1  from the University of Hartford, where she received a full scholarship.     

John C. Weinlein, IV (’96) Inducted 2001

John is a four-year varsity award recipient in wrestling here at Central Regional.  John was valedictorian and class president at Central. John accumulated 84 career victories, five of which were recorded against eventual state champions.  John was a four-time District 24 finalist and a first place District 24 winner in 1996. He was a four-year inductee to the Ocean County Wrestling Team and named to the First Team All-Shore in 1996.  John won the Neptune Classic, the Hawk Classic, the Region 6 and co-captained the most winning Central wrestling team in 1995-1996 and was ranked second in the Shore Conference and eleventh in the state.  Since leaving Central, John has graduated with a degree in kinesiology from the University of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.  

Jay Gould ('97) Inducted 2015

Jay Gould graduated in 1997 and was a three year varsity letter winner in football as a fullback and linebacker. He finished his career as a linebacker with 157 solo tackles, 12 sacks, 1 interception, and a then single-game school record of 19 solo tackles. He was the captain of the 1996 team that finished as the 2nd ranked overall defensive in the shore conference for total yards and points allowed and ranked 1st for rushing yards allowed. his senior year he earned all-division, all-county, all-shore, all-state group lll, all-shore scholar, and C.R. defensive MVP. In 2001 he received his undergraduate degree from Rowan University. He's since built and sold several technology businesses, most notably the award winning ad tech company, yashi, which he sold to the largest television broadcasting company in America. He's an ernst and young entrepreneur of the year award finalist and advisor to Rowan University. 

Anthony Maurice Worthy (’97) Inducted 2002

During his four years at Central, Maurice excelled in many areas both academically and athletically.  Maurice’s athletic accomplishments were exemplary in the sport of wrestling.  His high school career wrestling record was 124-8.  Additionally, Maurice was a four-time district champion, a three-time region champion, a two-time state champion, named Central Regional Outstanding Wrestler, 1995-1996 Wrestler of the Year, 1997 NJSIAA Scholar Athlete Recipient and was awarded the Outstanding Wrestler Award.    Maurice continued his wrestling career while attending college at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY.  While wrestling at West Point, he garnered many records and awards, some of which included the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association Award, NCAA Regional Qualifier Outstanding Wrestler Award, NY Collegiate Wrestler of the Year and was a USMA Mike Natvig Outstanding Wrestler Award recipient.  He culminated a great college-wrestling career with a 99-12 record.  He also placed second in the nation at the NCAA Championships in 2001.

Arian Clay ('98) Inducted 2019

Arian Clay graduated Central Regional in 1988.  He was a 3 year Varsity Starter for the Basketball Program serving as Team Captain during his Junior and Senior Years.  In Basketball, Arian enjoyed the honor of being named Defensive Player of the Year during his Junior year and MVP is senior year.  During that MVP Senior year Arian became a member of the prestigious 1,000 point club, finishing his career with a total of 1,016 points and he was ranked 3rd in the Shore Conference for scoring, as he averaged 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assist a game.  He was named 1st team "B" South, 2nd Team All County and played in the Ocean vs. Monmouth All Star Game.  In Track and Field, he was a 3 year varsity letter winner .  In his Senior Year, Arian placed 1st in the Discus at the South Jersey Group 3 Sectionals and took 3rd in the overall Group 3 Championship.  His Coaches remember him as one of the most unselfish players and of strong character, who took pride in his defense.

Keri Lages ('98) Inducted 2013

Keri was a varsity award recipient in soccer, winter track and spring track. In soccer, she scored 78 goals and finished her high school career, holding the all-time leading goal scoring record. She earned local and national accolades including first team all county, all shore, all state, and top 17 in Ocean County. Keri was recognized bu the national association for girls and women in sports. She played Division l soccer at Villanova and Rutgers on a full scholarship. At Villanova, Keri was the season leading scorer and was named to the Big East All Rookie Team. At Rutgers she was captain, offensive player of the year, MVP and led them to the sweet sixteen of the NCAA Tournament. She also earned first team Big East and Mid Atlantic All American Honors.  

Cheryl Perone ('98) Inducted 2011

Cheryl Perone is a 1998 graduate of Central Regional High School. She was a four year starter on varsity field hockey. During her junior and senior year she was selected as an all-county and all-star performer by the star ledger. She was awarded most outstanding player for Ocean County in the senior all star game. After graduating from Central Regional, Cheryl continued her education and field hockey career at Kean University. She played all four years, and was selected as the NJ Athletic Rookie of the Year as a freshman. She was a four time NJ Athletic Conference all-conference performer,  first team All American, and participated in the Division lll senior All-Star game. 

Mark Worthy ('99) Inducted 2004

Mark Worthy is a 1999 graduate of Central Regional High School. He was a four year letter winner in Wrestling. Mark finished his career with a record of 128 wins and 2 losses. He was a 3 time Neptune Tournament Champion, 4 time Hawk Tournament Champion, 4 time District Tournament Champion, 4 time Regional Tournament Champion and a 3 time State Tournament Champion. Mark continued his wrestling career while attending the University of Oklahoma. He was a four year member of the Wrestling team. Mark was a member of the Black Students Association. He graduated college with a degree in Sociology.

John Carrozza ('00) Inducted 2009

John Carrozza graduated Central Regional High School in 2000, and was inducted in 2009.  He played varsity soccer all four years of high school. His junior year he was all-county, all-shore, and all-state, and was all-county and all-shore first team his senior year. His team won the Group lll State Championship and he was recognized as the best player in the shore conference and one of the best top 5 players in the state. Upon graduation , he received a scholarship to play at division l St. John's University. He won Big East tournament crown and played in the NCAA Division l Final Four. John finished his career at Monmouth University. 

Tom Deblass ('00) Inducted 2016

Tom Deblass graduated Central Regional High School in 2000. He was a long jump record holder, as well as a county and state sectional champion in this event.  Tom was also a school record holder in the high jump relay.  He graduated Monmouth University with a degree in special education and elementary school education.  Tom went on to open his own business, Ocean County BJJ (Brazilian Jujitsu).  Tom is a multiple time ADCC North American Trials Champion.  He is a No Gi-Jujitsu World, National, and Pan American Champion.  Tom resides in Forked River, NJ with his wife and two children.  Tom is currently one of the most respected Jujitsu figures in the world today.

Erin Fisher ('01) Inducted 2015

Erin Fisher was a graduate of the class of 2001 and earned a letter on the girls varsity basketball team all four years of her high school career. Erin served as the captain of the team for both her junior and senior year and joined the 1000 point club her senior year. Erin finished her career with over 400 rebounds and 200 assists. She also earned MVP and all tournament honors at the Jackson Christmas Tournament. Erin was a Central Varsity MVP,  offensive player of the year, and was recognized on the all B-South team. Erin continued her education at the University of Maryland, earning her bachelors in american studies and a masters in education policy and management from Harvard University. While basketball was her first love, Erin's true passion is in providing and equitable and excellent education to the students of Washington, DC as a middle school principal.  

Jessica Williams ('02) Inducted 2016

Jessica Williams was a 2002  graduate of Central Regional and earned a varsity letter in both softball and basketball all 4 years.  In softball, Jessica was selected for 1st team All Ocean County in 2000.  She was also selected in 2001 and 2002 for 1st team All-Shore. Jessica was a team captain and received best defensive player award in 2000, best offensive player award in 2001, and the coach's award in 2002.  Jessica currently holds the career records for chances (780) and put outs (730).  In basketball, Jessica served as a team captain in 2001 and 2002.  She received the clutch player award in 2001 and MVP offensive Award in 2002.  Jessica finished her basketball career with over 500 points, over 200 assist, 130 steals and a 77% free throw percentage.  Jessica has been the assistant softball coach at Brookdale Community College since 2007.

Michael Clemente  ('03) Inducted 2015

Mike Clemente is a 2003 honor society graduate of Central Regional. While competing for the golden eagles, Mike earned 11 varsity letters, which included 3 in football, 4 in baseball, and 4 in basketball. Mike succeed in all sports, but basketball will always be his passion, He was captain for three years, made 1st and 2nd team all conference 4 times, 2nd team all shore once, and ended his career as part of the 1000 point club. After graduating, Mike went on to Moravian College where he majored in sociology and business. As a member of their basketball team, Mike started 3 seasons and was named captain both his junior and senior years He was also awarded defensive player of the year 3 consecutive years. in 2008, Mike became Moravian's top men's basketball assistant coach where he spearheaded the recruiting process. Mike is a business teacher and head boys basketball coach at Central Regional. 

Faith Clyburn ('05) Inducted 2017

Faith is a 2005 graduate of Central. She was a four year varsity starter in spring track and a three year varsity starter in field hockey and basketball. She enjoyed the honor of being named MVP six times during her 3 sport career. In field hockey faith was named First Team All-County and First Team All-Shore. In Basketball she ranks second in career steals with 236, fifth in career rebounds with 516 and holds the record for rebounds in a single game, 20. Track & field was Faith's main sport. She was First Team All-County, All-Shore, and All-State. She placed second in the state meet of champions for triple jump with a jump of 37'7". She is the school record holder in the 200, triple jump, and a member of the record setting 4 x 400 relay team. Faith received a full track scholarship to Fairleigh Dickinson University. Faith is employed at Central as a paraprofessional where she coaches field hockey, girls' basketball, and girls' spring track & field.

James Plummer ('08) Inducted 2014

James Plummer graduated from Central Regional in 2008. James was a two sport standout at Central Regional in basketball and track. James will be known as the most successful track athlete to ever graduate from Central. As his teams MVP, James won NJSIAA Sectional titles in both the shot put and discus and then went on to set the school record in the discus and win the NJSIAA State Championship. From Central, James attended Rutgers University where he became the most prolific thrower to ever go to Rutgers James won the Penn Relays three times, the Big East discus championship three times and was named Atlantic Coast Conference Athlete of the Year.James won the IC4A championship twice and holds the discus record at Rutgers University. He was also named athlete of the year at Rutgers. James finished 3rd in the U.S championship to qualify for the world team.   

Jessica Fritz ('09) Inducted 2015

Jessica Fritz graduated in 2009. She was a starter for all 3 years that she was on the varsity field hockey team playing the position of left wing. She set a number of records including a new Jersey State best of 93 points accumulated in a single season during her junior year. Jessica holds the records for most goals scored in a season, 43 breaking the previous records of 39. She also holds the record for most goals scored in a career, which was 100 goals, breaking the previous record of 97. Jessica was player of the year for Ocean County, 3 years in a row. She was also selected for all county, all shore, and all state 1st teams. During her time at Central, Jessica also participated in the girls varsity basketball team, where she played as a forward and tied the record for most defensive rebounds in a game which was 21. Jessica also participated on the girls spring track team where she did high jump and ran the 200 meter.

Samantha Jensen ('12) inducted 2021

Samantha Jensen is a 2012 Graduate and a 3 season varsity athlete who completed in soccer and winter and spring track.  She was a member of the 2011 Girls Soccer Team that won the B South Championship and earned a spot on the all shore 2nd team.  Samantha was the leading scorer on 2011, with 16 goals and 6 assist.  While soccer was her passion, Samantha shined on the track and earned 2nd in he state for 100 Hurdles in 2012.  She was a member of Multiple All-Shore teams in winter and spring track in 2010,2011, and 2012.   Samantha set 5 school records at Central Regional for spring track.  Upon graduating Samantha received a full scholarship to continue her soccer and track career at Division 1 Wagner College. Samantha holds multiple school records at Wagner as well as the Northeast Conference Championship meet record in the 100 meter hurdles.  Samantha works as a Doctor of Physical Therapy helping rehabilitee athletes back to their sports. 

Evan Mahoney ('13) inducted 2021

Evan Mahoney is a 2013 Central Regional Graduate. Evan was a varsity athlete in Multiple sports but will be known most for his career on the swim team.  In his 4 years at Central, He became the school record holder in 7 of the 8 individual events & 1 relay. He became a nine time Ocean County Champion where he broke 4 county records and was named swimmer of the meet 3 times.  Evan was a seven time shore conference champion and broke 2 conference records. He had 8 top 4 finished at the Meet of Champions with multiple 2nd place finishes.  Evan was also a 3 time scholastic all american and was a recipient of the NJSIAA Scholar Athlete Award.  Even went on to attend the University of South Carolina and became a 2 time SEC Conference team member with the Gamecocks and was an academic scholar athlete. Evan Graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.  Evan lives in Charleston, SC  where he is a project manager for a General Contractor. 

Andrew DiPiazza ('14) inducted 2021

Andrew DiPiazza, class of 2014 was a 3 year varsity baseball player and was a dominants starting pitcher for the Golden Eagles in his Junior and Senior seasons. During those 2 years Andrew was voted "Conference pitcher of the year and went undefeated as a starting pitcher with 13 wins and 2 saves with a 0.90 Earned Run Average and 166 strikeouts.  He had one of the greatest season in 2014 when he lead the team to the Ocean County Tournament Championship and was voted Shore Conference Player of the Year. That year he batted .423 with 5 Homeruns, 7 doubles, and 23 Runs Batted. He set a single season school record for slugging percentage .732.  On the mound that year, Andrew allowed 6 earned runs and  struck out 61 batters in 44 innings pitched. During both his Junior and Senior, he was named 1st team All State, 1st team All Shore, 1st team All County, All 1st team All Conference.  Andrew graduated as only the second baseball player to be voted 1st team All State on two occasions.  Andrew accepted a scholarship to play Baseball at the University of Alabama and was drafted by the San Francisco Giants.  He is currently playing in within the Colorado Rockies Organization. 







Golden Eagle Coaches

Al Kunzman Inducted 1987

Central’s outstanding baseball coach for 20 years, he has kept teams in the thick of competition winning 300 career victories and many championships.  In most recent history, his Golden Eagles were the 1984 NJSIAA – Group III winners and in 1985, Ocean County Tournament champions. Coach Kunzman was one of the baseball coaches in the shore that are responsible for the start of the Ocean County and Shore Conference Tournaments that are still played today.  Mr. Kunzman is ranked as one of the best baseball coaches in New Jersey.    

John Cameron Inducted 1987

John came to Central Regional from Pennsylvania back in 1957 and became head basketball coach in 1959.  He coached for 18 years before retiring from the sport and continued to teach Science at Central until his full retirement in 1986.  John led his Golden Eagle basketball teams to two Shore Conference Championships in 1970 and 1971. Over the years, he coached some outstanding players, which include our Hall of Fame’s Lonnie Mattox, Robbie Keyes, John Kilmurray and Ritchie Norcross. 

Steve Healey Inducted 2002

Steve came to Central Regional from his college years at Simpson College and East Stroudsburg State University where he was a member of the football, basketball and track teams.  At Simpson College, Steve became captain of the football team, which was honored as Iowa Conference Champions in 1969, participated in the Mineral Bowl in Missouri that same year.  Later, Steve Healey was a member of the Mid West All Star game in Minnesota and was inducted into the Simpson College Hall of Fame in 1985.  His personal career accomplishments are only overshadowed by his accomplishments on behalf of students during his 33 years coaching.  He is the recipient of the Central Regional Teacher of the Year, the NJ Governor’s Award for Outstanding Teacher and Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.  Serving as defensive coordinator for the Central football program, Steve saw the team earn three Shore Conference championships, three State play-off games and become the All-Shore Football Classic Coach for three years.  As our track coach, Steve Healey coached his teams to 23 winning seasons, was named Coach of the Month and then Coach of the Year twice.  Additionally, the track team was recognized as the Pinelands Wildcat Relay Champions, the Ocean County Freshman Champions, the Shore Conference Champions, Team of the Year in 2001 and completed two undefeated seasons. Individually, Steve Healey has coached thirteen county champions, four conference champions, four state seasonal champions and one state champion.  Thank you Steve Healey for being such an integral part of the Central Regional athletic history book. 

Jerry Golembeski Inducted 1991

A former 1956 All-State baseball player for Trenton Central, Jerry played soccer and baseball forMontclair State.  There, he won honors in 1960 as an All-Conference forward in soccer.  In 1959, 1960 and 1961, he was selected as an All-Conference pitcher in baseball.  In 1961, he received the MVP baseball award, the Sportsmanship award, and the Outstanding Athlete award. He signed a professional contract with the Boston Red Sox.  Active in leadership positions in many county and conference capacities, he also served as teacher, coach, supervisor and athletic director at Central Regional for 30 years.  Jerry was instrumental and a leader in establishing the Ocean County Girl’s Sports Program.

Joseph Boyd Inducted 1987

Mr. Boyd was Central’s first athletic director and football coach.  He led his first team to a Central Jersey – Group I championship, the first time ever to be done.  That team was followed by undefeated Shore Conference champions in 1957, 1970 and 1971.  Joe Boyd’s 1971 team was voted number one in the state and he was elected as Shore Conference Coach of the Year.  The Central Regional Football Complex was dedicated to him in the fall of 1972. 

Robert Painter Inducted 1989

A former high school track star himself, Bob settled in as head track coach at Central back in 1959.  A  “dean” of shore track & field and cross country coaches and one of the founding fathers of indoor track in the shore area, Bob guided Central through various titles.  Among his accomplishments are:

Bob also attained a phenomenal 103-55 win/loss record since 1976 and was influential in coaching former state champions and Central Hall of Fame greats, Ed Shattuck, Jr. and Carlos Hanze

Norm Selby Inducted 1995

Norm came to the Bayville area and Central Regional from Collingswood and quickly established himself as a winner.  His illustrious career as Girls Softball Coach spanned fourteen seasons with a win/lose percentage of .727 or 254 wins, 95 losses and one tie.  He led his Golden Eagles Softball Teams to the following championships:

Norm also received accolades as the Ocean County Daily Observer’s “Coach of the Year” in 1982, 1986, 1988, 1992 and 1994; the Newark Star Ledger’s “Coach of the Year in 1986; and WOBM’s “Coach of the Year” in 1981, 1984, 1988, 1992 and 1994.

Arlene Leperi Inducted 2001

Our first inductee is an honorary inductee who served the Central Regional Athletic Department since 1989 as coach for the bowling teams, both girls and boys.  Arlene Leperi coached her teams to ten state tournament appearances, five Shore Conference appearances, two B South Sectional Championships and one South Jersey State Sectional Championship.  Also named Coach of the Year twice by the Ocean County Observer and the Asbury Park Press, Arlene retired from her coaching position to pursue a career in the mental health profession in 1999. 

John O. MacIntosh Inducted 1997

John was known as “Mac” to everyone who knows him was not only an industrial arts teacher, but also a successful coach at Central Regional. His dedication to Central Regional athletics and the Booster Club dates back to 1956, the birth of Central Regional, and continued until his retirement in 1985.  Along with coaching track, Mac, with the late Joe Boyd, were probably best known as Central’s football coaches from 1956 to 1972.  During this period, he helped coach several Shore Conference Championship teams and two State Championship teams in 1956 and 1971.  Mr. Mac with his shop students, many of whom were athletes, spearheaded the construction of the original concrete block refreshment stand, the tower on the old field, the press box on the existing field, several ticket booths and the erection of the present scoreboard and goal posts.

Madeline Dutton Inducted 2016

In 1969, Madeline was hired as a physical education and health teacher at Central Regional. In 1976, She became the Head Varsity Field Hockey Coach.  She held that position until 2016.  Shen was also the assistant lacrosse coach from 1999-2006.  Coach Dutton finished her career with 496 wins.  Her field hockey teams won 16 Shore Conference Championships and she was named coach of the year 9 times.  In 1986, her team compiled a 14-4-1 record, winning their division, South Jersey Group III title and played in the Group 3 Finals.  She was inducted into the Coaches Hall of Fame and the NJSIAA Hall of Fame in 1999.  Coach Dutton also coached several all star games for ocean county.  After retiring from coaching at Central, Madeline will continue to help grow field hockey in the area and spend time watching her granddaughters play both in college and high school.

George E. Steinhauser Inducted 2016

 was an industrial arts teacher & coach from 1973 to 2001.  He coached football for 28 years & coined the cry ,"Special Teams Win Games!" His 1989 special teams united amassed 854 return yards, 4 returns for touchdowns, multiple extra points, a 38 yard punt average, and a record setting 45 yard field goal.  George coached Berkeley Pop Warner Football where he introduced CR's Football System.  That 1st group become conference champions their senior year.  HE coached the 1st ever CR Alumni football game.  George also coached wrestling for 28 years and began the 7th and 8th grade Central Regional Wrestling Programs. He found and was Head Coach of the Berkeley Mat Rats Program for 9 years.  Many of these boys became successful wrestlers and Champions at Central.  George coached track and field for 26 years, including school record holders in the pole vault and long jump.

Patrick Lynch inducted 2009

Patrick served as CRHS head wrestling coach from 1986-2003. He was voted coach of the year by: Ocean County Observer-Asbury Park Press. Twice district 20 , twice Region 6. His teams finished in the top ten of the Shore Conference 11 times, twice finishing second. Three times his team finished in the top 20 of the state. His team won three conference championships , 1 hawk championship , 2 neptune championships, and 1 district 24 championships. He coached 23 district champions, 13 regional champions, 4 state place winners, 1 state runner-up and 5 state champions.

 Dan Duddy Inducted 2017

Dan was hired as both head football coach and teacher at Central in 1992. He was the assistant coach for the girls' varsity basketball championship team and girls' track 4 x 400 relay team, that included his daughter Aileen, finishing fifth in the state. His football teams achieved ten straight winning seasons including a B-South Championship in 1994, five state qualifications, and a heartbreaking loss in a state final at his alma mater, Brick. He earned six coach of the year honors, coached the Ocean County Football All-Stars multiple times, and the New Jersey Football All-Stars against New York in the Governor's Bowl. Dan started a school-wide mentoring program in 2002 which continues to grow today. He is honored in a Hall of Fame sponsored by the Chicago Bears, Jersey Shore Sports, Brick High School, and Central Regional. Nearly 500 players signed the "We Will" sign, the glue of the brotherhood that Coach Duddy built.

Mike Clemente Inducted 2015

in 1981, Mike was hired as an american history teacher ad head of the boys basketball program, positions he held until his retirement in 2012. For many years, he was also an assistant football coach. Mike's record was 361-275. In 1988-89 Central was 20-6, led by 2200 point scorer Jermain Clay. Mike's teams won 6 conference championships. He coached 8 - 1000 point scorers and was named coach of the year five times. When Mike retired in 2012, he was the last original coach left in the WOBM Christmas Classic, where his teams reached the championship game on several occasions. Mike coached in the all star state game, coaching the south team in 2011 and 2012. He was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame in recognition of his coaching achievements. Since retiring as a head coach at central, Mike has been sharing his experience with other shore conference teams. 

Community Members

Kevin Williams Inducted 1999

Kevin is director of sports and community relations for WOBM.  His responsibilities include scheduling and broadcasting of weekly football, basketball and baseball games as well as five daily sport reports.  Each weekday morning, one can hear Kevin with his poignant segment called “The Hometown View”.  Kevin is also the founder and director of the WOBM Christmas Classic.  This basketball tournament has grown from 8 teams to 24 making it one of New Jersey’s largest high school basketball events.  This tournament has provided scholarships to participants and donations to Ocean County College.  Kevin is a three-time New Jersey Sportscaster of the Year, one of New Jersey Jaycees’ Ten Outstanding Young Citizens in New Jersey, Kiwanis Club of Lacey Outstanding Person of the Year, the recipient of the Peryl M. King Distinguished Alumni Award and the recipient of the Ocean County College Distinguished Achievement Award in March 2000.  Kevin Williams has been honored numerous occasions for WOBM’s coverage of high school sports in New Jersey.  Civically minded, he serves on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Ocean County and serves a member of the Executive Board of the Beachwood Soccer Club. A 1973 graduate of Central Regional High School, Kevin played football and was the third base coach on Central’s first Ocean County Baseball Tournament Champions in 1973.  While attending Ocean County College, he was the voice of Viking Basketball and Sports Editor of the school newspaper. After OCC, he attended the American Academy of Broadcasting in Philadelphia.                                                          

Ralph Frulio Inducted 1990

President of the Central Regional Booster Club from 1986 to 1990, Ralph was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1990 in recognition of his tenacious dedication to Central Regional’s athletic program.  His accomplishments include his reorganization of the former Touchdown Club to the All-Sports Booster Club, the initiation of Project Centralight that established the lighting on Central’s football field, the initiation of a new stadium refreshment stand, the initiation and expansion of the new Booster Club Scholarship Program and the initiation of the first High School Sports Hall of Fame in Ocean County.  Ralph G. Frulio is a true friend and supporter of Central Regional High School.

Honorary inductees, Bob and Debbie Parks, have faithfully served the Booster Club for many years.  Active in all of the Booster Club’s activities, Bob and Debbie were integral members in many of the projects of the Booster Club including the most recent scoreboards for softball, baseball and field hockey.  A never-ending source of encouragement and hard work, Debbie and Bob remain active members of the Booster Club and Central athletics.  They are the parents of Brad, Matt and Andy Parks, all stellar athletes that have graduated for Central.  The Parks’ epitomize the essence of volunteerism and we are thankful for people such as these.  For this, the Parks are inducted into the Central Hall of Fame as honorary members.

Ken Turp Inducted 2010

Ken Turp is a member of the Jersey Shore Sports Hall of Fame. He was a varsity athlete at Central Regional, and has been involved in the Jersey Shore Sports Scene for over 33 years. Ken was the first to broadcast a live interview show on radio in Ocean County, featuring national and local sports, that was heard on WOBM radio. He also served as a sports director, and joined Adelphia Cable T.V. in Ocean County doing interview shows and broadcasting H.S and college sporting events, which he did for 18 years. Ken did play by play, as well as the roll of color analyst for three radio stations and cable T.V. covering all sports. He is also the co-founder of the Jersey Shore summer basketball league, now a top league in the country for H.S, college and pro players.

CRHS Football Team ('71) Inducted 2012

The 1971 football team is the only team in the history of Central Regional School District to be ranked #1 in the State and #1 in Ocean County. The team amassed a 9 win and 0 loss record.

CRHS Baseball Team ('84) Inducted 2009

The 1984 baseball team were the Group lll State Champions, Group lll South Jersey Sec. Champions, and class "B" South Champions with a record of 24-4-1. 

CRHS Boys Soccer Team ('94) Inducted 2014

The 1994 boys soccer team were the South Jersey Group lll Champions (four straight shutouts), NJSIAA Group lll Semi-Finalists, 6th ranked team in New Jersey, and #1 ranked team in Ocean County.

CRHS Softball Team ('96) Inducted  2011 

The 1996 softball team were the Group lll State Champions and ranked 11th in the state, 3rd in the Shore Conference, and 1st in Ocean County with a record of 22-6.
