The Central Community School System offers identification and services to qualifying students who are Academically Gifted and/or Talented. Opportunities for Talented students are available in the areas of Talented Theater, Talented Music and Talented Visual Arts at all levels in our district, from Elementary through to High School. Screenings are offered at the school level to begin the process of identification.
The Talented Program is an educational initiative tailored for students recognized for their exceptional abilities in visual arts, music, or theatre with in the Central School System. The classes offered in these disciplines are meticulously designed to provide experiences that foster skill enhancement, expand disciplinary knowledge, and facilitate personal growth as artists.

Teachers certified by the State Department of Education as qualified to instruct Talented students.
Curriculum content enriched beyond that available to students in the regular education arts classes.
The first step in being identified as talented is to be screened by a teacher familiar with your child's gifts.
The screening process begins at the school level with a signed permission form or a written request from the parent sent to the school counselor
The school counselor will provide you with screening preparation materials as you begin the process to be evaluated for talented.
The CHS Talented Performing Arts Department offers multiple classes for our students!
We have classes that are performance based, non-performance based, technical skill building, and even individual pullouts to focus on a students specific area of interest. Our classes are designed to challenge our students and help them grow into their full potential!
