Receiving the Student iPad or Macbook
iPads and Macbooks are distributed on the first day of school. Parents and students must sign and return (either electronically or on paper) the Internet & Laptop/iPad Acceptable Use Agreement before a device is issued to the student.
What Comes With the Student iPad or MacBook
Each iPad and MacBook come with a cover, sleeve, power cord and cube, and pre-installed apps.
Student iPad & MacBook Check-In
Student iPads and MacBooks will be returned during the final week of school for updates during the summer months. If a student transfers out of the Central Community School District during the school year, the iPad or MacBook will be returned at that time.
Student iPad & MacBook Check-In Fines
All student iPads, MacBooks, and accessories must be returned to Central Community School at the end of each school year. A student who graduates early, transfers to alternative school, withdraws, is suspended or expelled, or terminates enrollment at Central Community School for any other reason must return the school iPad or MacBook on the date of termination. A student who fails to return the iPad or MacBook at the end of the school year or upon termination of enrollment will be subject to criminal prosecution or civil liability. The student will also pay the replacement cost of the iPad or MacBook. Failure to return the iPad or MacBook will result in a theft report being filed with the Elkader Police Department or Clayton County Sheriff's Office.
Furthermore, the student will be responsible for any damage to the iPad or MacBook, consistent with Central’s Internet & Laptop/iPad Acceptable Use Agreement, and must return the iPad or MacBook and accessories to the Central Community School Library in satisfactory condition. The student will be charged a fee for any needed repairs or lost accessories, not to exceed the replacement cost of the iPad, MacBook and accessories.
Optional: 9th-12th Grade Student-Provided Laptop Covers

- The cover protects the top and bottom of the laptop.
- The cover is transparent enough to show the laptop inventory label through the cover (the inventory label is located in the top lefthand corner of the top of the laptop).
