Drawing 2

Lauryn Ginter “ The story”

9”x12”, Graphite and oil pastels, 2019

The style of my drawing is realism. This is a picture of Conan Gray, a singer. I went to one of his concerts awhile ago and took a picture of him singing. This picture was taken when he was singing an unreleased song called “the story”. I used graphite to draw him and then I used oil pastels for the background. I like my drawing but I don't really like to use graphite, it didn't really turn out the way I wanted. If I could change one thing it would have been to do in in color pencil.

Lauryn Ginter “Turning Tables”

9”x11”, Color Pencil, 2019

The style of my drawing is realism, its a drawing of record playing. I tried to make this drawing as real as I could, I added shading and highlights to the places that needed it. I chose to do this because I had a record playing and I thought it would be a cool thing to draw. The record that is playing is a singer named Janice Joplin and I got this record when my aunt had given me a box of old records and I started playing the “Janice Joplin in concert” vinyl. And the first song that played was “Get it while you can”, and I loved it. It's all about not wasting time doing the things you want and taking those chances. And also about how you don't know if there is a tomorrow so “get it while you can”. I really like the record part of the drawing because the highlights where the sun hits looks really cool I think. I would maybe change the wired bench thing that is sits on and take that out.

Lauryn Ginter “Roxy”

18”x24”, Chalk Pastels, 2019

The style of my drawing is realism, I wanted to draw my dog as real as I could. I did this by adding highlights and shading to the darker parts. I chose to do this because last year I drew a picture of my other dog and only thought it would be fair to draw my other one. This is a drawing of Roxy and she’s laying on the ground. The thing I like the most would probably be the nose because I like the highlights but I do like the overall thing. If I had to change one thing it would probably be the ears but other than that i'm not sure.

We used pre made molds to get all the designs, we rolled paint on to them and then stamped in on the paper. some of them came out pretty well, others didn't. then we sprayed color water on them and did that for the background.
