WaMac Art Show Program
Photoshop, 2017
We were supposed to make a poster for the WaMaC Art Show. I started with the fonts, and I tried to find something that was different than a normal comic sans font. When I found the font I liked, I started to think what does this font make me think about. Does it have free form shapes or geometric shapes. I started with geometric because the words have straight lines with it, and I just changed the color and opacity of it. Then I put lines in the shapes to make it uniform with the words. And added lines to the numbers. I am most pleased with that the numbers and the shapes all match because none of these had lines in them. If I could start over, I would try to make the numbers match more with the words.
My second idea was thought of because I fell in love with a picture of leaves. So, I added the shapes on top of the leaves and matched the colors of the leaves to the shapes. I then made the “leaves” bigger and added the words on top of the pinkish red lines to make it stand out more. I am most pleased with the colors, it stands out and I like how they all are different. No same colors. If I could change, I would take the blue out of the leaves because it doesn’t really go with the rest of the color pallet.
