i came up with the idea of a self portrait surrounded by my favorite things because I wanted to show people who I am and what I like. This painting is meaningful because it is me and all of the things I love and the things I like doing. I would change the size of the painting because it is difficult seeing where my lines of my face when they are covered by the saber and the Green Bay Packers logo. I like that it is me and that it is 5 things that sum "me" up like the Wisconsin Badgers logo, Green Bay Packers logo, the St. Louis Cardinals logo, the Taylormade Golf logo, and the Saber to represent my High School.
Jacob Brainerd "Solar Eclipse"

I came up with the idea of the solar eclipse because when the solar eclipse happened this year I was not able to see it, so I thought I could paint it and I would have this sight forever. I decided to paint my painting with acrylic paint on a 9X12 paper. I probably would change where the buildings are because they kind of look like it’s a floating city. I love that it actually looks like an eclipse and the sun just pops and brings the eye to the middle which is where I want the eye to be.
