Haley Yutesler “Punkin’” 18x24, acrylic, 2018
This painting is unique to me because I love fall, and it reminds me of a dark pumpkin patch. The title “punkin” comes from my grandma, because I’ve always loved fall and that is what she used to call me. If I was to start over, I would have started the pumpkins with an actual orange instead of the yellowish orange colors. I love the night sky because the starts and the lights and so realistic to me and I love the glare and yellow tint to the light bulbs.
Haley Yutesler, “Silhouette Feeling” 18x24, watercolor, acrylic, 2018
This painting is unique to me because I love sunsets, and the sunset is kinda darker, and then the painting of the tree is a replica of my drawing of a tree I drew this summer. The sunset is purple pink and blue which indicates the sunsets, and the tree in the middle in black looking like a shadow at night. If I was to start over, I would make the tree a lot better and take my time on it more to make it look a little more real and maybe add in some shading. I love the sunset and I feel like it looks pretty and I took a lot of time on it.
Haley Yutesler “independent” 9x12, acrylic, 2018
This painting is unique to me, because I thought that I didn’t like doing people because I didn’t think I was good at painting self portraits, but I am very proud of myself that I could do this painting. I had to change some things up and it doesn’t look exactly like the picture, because I wanted to change some things about my hair and my makeup and made it look a little more settle. This painting makes me look happy and independent and I love the way this painting made me feel. I am very proud of this painting. If I started over on this painting I would take a little more time on the grass background and make it look a little more blurry and look like a photographer took it like she did, but other than that I loooove the colors I used and the different greens were very fun to use, and it might have taken some time but I still love it.
Haley Yutesler “two faced” 9x12, acrylic
This painting is unique to me because it shows my liking of special effects makeup and it has a meaning behind it a little bit too, due to the half skull makeup and the normal human face. The flower crown is shaded with different colors of orange and pink and the hair has about six different colors in it to create dimension of actual hair color. If I started over, I would put a skull around the face more to make it not a whole thick line. I love the freckles and the fake blood. The hair brings out color of actual hair color and I love the colors in flowers.
Haley Yutesler, “Breathe…” 9x12, acrylic, 2018
This painting is unique to me because I feel like I can draw flowers well and sunflowers are very pretty and they make me feel happy. The word believe on the top symbolizes the title and the sunflower looks detailed. If I was to start over, I would’ve shaded the pedals in the beginning instead of putting the harsh black lines so I didn’t have to go over them, because I feel like it kind of looks messy. I do love the shading of the pedals, it makes them look shadowed and they look nice and easy and I love the contrast between the yellows, browns, and white.
