Cardboard, clay, glaze, wire, grout
My source of inspiration was Romero Britto’s Butterfly sculpture. It inspired me because of all the different shapes and patterns. All the different colors and how beautiful it is.
My process for the artwork was I molded and cut the clay then we fired it, then I glazed the clay and fired it, then I broke the clay into pieces. I made a cardboard cut out and glued the body onto it. After that I glued the pieces onto the cardboard, then put grout in between them. We let it dry and then I put the wire on.
On the right side I put the grout all over and then left it for a day or two and came back to get it off. It was not coming off so we had to figure out a good way to get it off without wrecking it under the grout. So I ended up scraping it off with then end of a paint brush and it came off.
The creative risk that I took was making the clay and then breaking it because I had no idea how it was going to turn out. I didn’t know if it was going to look good or not. At the end I really like it and I am glad that I took that risk and tried something new.
I like the different colors and how they are all over the place the most. I love all the different colors and shapes that the clay makes.
If I started over I would have not left the grout on the right side on as long because it made the grout a little light then the other side and I like it darker.
Overall I really love this art piece that I did and I think it is amazing.

Watercolor paper, folders, tape, and watercolors
The inspiration for this piece was urban mazes by Alma Tomas I loved the different lines and how the cut-off parts of the colors and just how the lines looked. The next piece that inspired me was Convergence #10 by Jackson Pollack and I loved this piece because of the splattered paint and how it looks in the artwork.
My first piece the one with the shapes colored I put tape where I wanted the lines to go then I colored the shape in one color then splattered different colors on that and let it dry. Then for my second piece I cut out shapes and taped them on the paper and every different line I a different color to make a contrast with everything else.
We did not have The right tape so we did not know what would work so we looked and we found masking tape and we tried it and it worked. Also, I did not know what to do to make the shapes not have any color so we found folders and started to cut out shapes and taped them on and that worked too.
I took a risk by using masking tape and using folders for the shapes because I had no idea if it was going to look good bleed through. It was something That I was scared about because I thought it looked so good but it did not bleed through.
The thing that I like the most is hoe I have two and they are opposites of each other. Also, I love all of the different colors and how they mix with each other. And you can see all of the different colors in this piece.
If I could start over I would change one of the edges. It looks like it was ripped and I would cut that off so it did not look like that. Overall I love this piece.
