Corey Dochterman – “The blue sign”
9 x 12,” Oil Pastel, Watercolor Paint, Hot Glue on Paper, 2017
1. Looked at images online, thought that I should do this because no one in reality and in art, would really do this? Otherwise it was fun.
2. Funny, no one does this picture, Joke. It was just a made-up thing but it is actually made in reality and I wanted people to think it’s weird because no one else would really make a “Blue Sign” and it’s totally off track.
3. Make it better looking. It’s odd because I kind of rushed it, but otherwise it was fine.
4. Totally different from reality, not an occurring thing, different from others.

Explain how you developed your idea.
What do you want your audience to think about when they look at this artwork?
What would you change if you started over?
What do you love about it?
1. Thought of all those hotel lobbies that have elevators in them that say, “L” for lobby and stuff.
2. How a hotel lobby would look.
3. Spend more time + Make it look better.
4. That there is an Elevator with some buttons and a sign above, that glows.

What do you love about it?
1. Thought about the mouth and it’s halloweeny look.
2. Taking out pieces from it and putting some in.
3. That it is abstract like most other faces.
4. Add the other eye that I forgot about.
5. It surprisingly stands up when it has a part on the bottom missing.
