“ ‘Murica ”
8” x 10”
I used my computer.
My inspiration came from the previous assignment of making a burger. I felt like doing it again but just a little more stereotypically. I made the individual layers of the burger, from top to bottom, then made the flag, then the pattern on the bottom. I then went in a used the filter gallery on some of the parts. The only problem I faced was the multiply brush and I didn't know how to fix it. Eventually I found it and fixed it. I use the filter gallery on some things I didn't think I would do. The stars are and example along with the plate the burger rests on. I like the texture of some of the layers they bring the whole thing together and make it look better. I would change the bottom half of the picture because it looks weird and don't like it. I would make into maybe a table or something.

Clay, glaze.
My source of inspiration is cards. I put the four suits of cards on each side. I started with a circle slab base. I then put cylinder shaped slabs of clay to make it taller. For the indent, I put more cone like slabs of clay so it went in then I did the opposite to make it go back out. The only problem I had was the fact that the slabs cracked when I bent them. I just put a thin layer of clay there and smoothed it all out. Getting glaze to stay on the side of the shapes. When it was fired it didn’t stay where I put it. To glaze the inside, I poured clear glaze and rotated the piece. I like the simplicity of the piece. It’s just 3 solid colors and it just looks ice. It isn’t overwhelming to the eye. I would try to do a better job glazing the side of the shapes because they are messy. I would also try to make it more upright, it is kind of lopsided.

Metal and construction paper.
I got my idea from winnie the pooh. I got an idea. I then sketched it, traced it into metal with a pen then added details with pens and shade pencils. The metal ripped at one point and it looked weird so I just pushed the two ripped sides together and didn’t go any deeper there. I put lines on the belly that protruded out and I didn’t know how good it would look but I looks fine. I like how accurate it is. It looks very close to the original. I would add more of the stitch marks. It’s one of the defining details of him and I forgot.
