For a little while, I kind of moved away from art because of lack of inspiration. Out of the blue I just decided to draw a humming bird. However, it didn’t come out as good as it would’ve been 1 year ago when I was drawing regularly. That’s when I kind of created an “experiment”. The experiment was how many times it would take for my humming bird to improve. In the end, it took me 4 tries to improve, with a little help from a tutorial and a picture. I was so happy with the outcome of my last drawing, I decided to use it for my painting. So, for me, this painting really means improvement. If I were to change anything it would be the petals on the flower to go more with gravity. I love how the wing came out the most, I like the shading and the highlights that signify that the feathers are behind each other.

I got my idea because I was drawing a giraffe pattern. I then thought about putting a giraffe in the corner as sort of a Pop Art look. Then I made it minimalistic so everything tied in together. As for meaning, it doesn’t really have one. The point of the painting is just for you to look at it. If I were to change anything it would be to make the lines cleaner to really give that Pop Art feel. I love how the giraffe came out.
