Number Corner is a DAILY, 15 to 20 minutes math skill-building routine developed by The Math Learning Center as part of the Bridges in Mathematics curriculum. While the main Bridges lessons focus on the deep-dive units (like addition, fractions or geometry), Number Corner runs alongside as a continuous, year-long daily workout.
Instead of introducing a concept, testing it, and moving on, Number Corner revists key math ideas continuously throughout the school year using dynamic, interactive classroom displays at every grade changing every month.

How Number Corner and Bridges Work Together
Think of Bridges as the main meal and Number Corner as the daily exercise:
Preview & Review: Number Corner introduces foundational ideas BEFORE they appear in the main Bridges units and keeps previously learned concepts fresh long after a unit ends.
Spiral Learning: Rather than mastering a topic in a single week, students engage with mathematical ideas by bit over months, building automaticity without the stress of cramming.
Daily Consistency: Because it is short and predictable, and used at every grade, Number Corner builds math confidence, helping students view math as ongoing discovery rather than isolated assignments.
How Number Corner Builds Number Sense & Sense-Making
Rather than asking kids to memorize formulas, Number Corner emphasizes WHY numbers work the way they do through visual models, pattern recognition, and real-world sensemaking contexts.
