These items will be carried in their backpacks. (The bag should include a big Pink Eraser, pencils, two black and blue pens, two red grading pens, and different color highlighters.)
1 - School-issued or student-purchased planner. A replacement planner will cost $5
Inside the Pencil Bag, you should always have 2 pencils, 2 black pens, 2 blue pens, 1 red pen, 4 different color highlighters, and a big pink eraser at all times. If one pen runs out of ink, replace it. If you lose the big eraser, replace it.
School Issued Planner that will be utilized every single day during the school year.
The purpose is to organize all important information into one place so students can interact with it for 30 minutes to an hour each night. Students should utilize the five phases of focused note-taking as they revisit, review, and research concepts that were taught during the day in each of our four core content classes. Anytime a student finds themselves struggling, they should start gathering academic artifacts they struggled with in class by snapping photos with their iPad and then place them into their digital binder (Google Drive).

Goal - Plan - Action
On Mondays, BOBCAT HOUR, students will create a SMART goal for the week in one of four core classes they have the lowest grade. Afterward, students then track daily assignments and manage coursework to ensure they are on track to achieve their intended goal by Friday. At the end of the week, students reflect on their SMART goal and write down their grades, so they can determine the next SMART goal for the upcoming week.
Planners will also be where kids house their SEL lessons, , and hallway passes so it is important that students have an organized binder along with an organized planner. The goal is to teach kids how to utilize their WICOR tools and be college, career, and life ready for whatever the day brings.
