Online Portfolio
Each student shall complete an online portfolio (website) by May of their graduating year. This online portfolio will serve as a collection of evidence of assembled by the student that displays a deliberate pursuit of a global education as a student at Cedarburg High School. Your online portfolio should include at least four separate pages that showcase the four required Global Education Achievement Certificate identified and described above.
This online portfolio serves as a method of communication between the student and the Global Scholars faculty committee. It is suggested that the portfolio should include the following with respect to the four requirements:
Coursework: A list of courses taken at Cedarburg High School that qualify for Global Scholars credit and a reflection on how these courses shaped your understanding of a global community. These courses will be verified by your guidance counselor and the Global Scholars faculty committee.
Cultural Literacy: Your eight approved reviews of international/cultural media should be uploaded or shared.
Co-Curricular and Other School Sponsored Activities: Students should include evidence of active participation and leadership in the four Cedarburg High School co-curricular activities. Each activity should include a reflection on how your participation in this activity shaped your understanding of a global community. Images or video of active participation and leadership are strongly encouraged.
Community Service: Students should include evidence of 20 hours of active participation and leadership in one or multiple community service/service learning project. Images or video of active participation and leadership are strongly encouraged.
Students are strongly recommended to use their Cedarburg School District Google account to construct and share their online portfolio. Students only need to provide access to their website to the Global Scholars faculty committee, but have the options of extending access to other students, family members, and other people or organizations that you would like to share your achievements with. .
