The Danish Resistance

“The history of the rescue of the Danish Jews is a story about the survival instinct, civil disobedience and the assistance provided by an entire people when, outraged and angry, it rebelled against the deportation of its fellow Danes” This quote is from the book Countryman by Lidegaard and well describes the effort that the Danish people took to save and help there Jewish neighbors. The Danes were the only country who did anything to help the Jewish neighbors and defy the ruling of Hitler. This amazing feat demonstrated the courage and humanity of an entire people.
