Competition Rules
This is a SHORT COURSE event.
Swimmers are limited to 4 individual events and 6 relays. The relay order of swimmers must be given at the time of entry. Reserves must be listed as well in the 'Team Manager' file sent to the host school. Schools are permitted to enter any number of swimmers into the same event, providing the individuals do not exceed their maximum.
The 50m and 100m events will have heats and finals. The 200m+ events will be swum as heat declared winners. The host can determine the session (Morning Heats or Afternoon Finals) in which the HDW events are swum based on the number of entries and the timeline. The number of finalists will depend on the number of lanes available.
If time permits and at the host's discretion a B Final can be offered for swimmers aged 16 & uder. No points will be awarded for this event but it gives the younger developing swimmers a chance to swim again in the afternoon and experience a heats/ finals format.
Each team can enter a 10 swimmers maximum per gender.
Maximum squad size is 20 swimmers.
Age as at the first day of the meet.
This event is primarily for students aged 15 years & over but schools can swim up Students in the Open format who are 14 years of age as at the day of the meet but no younger. This does mean you could choose to bring a swimmer to both meets but this would be rare and at each school's discretion and subject to their own selection policies and financial means.
A sample meet shell will be available, however at the host's discretion this can be adapted to ensure the sessions match the pool booking times you have available to you.
