When advertising a general position (e.g., in the Education Gazette), you should include the following specific legal phrasing:

For a General Position

Staff are expected to recognize and respect the school’s Catholic special character and be actively involved in the total life of the school, in a manner which respects the religious instruction given and religious observances practiced within the school. 

When advertising a special position (e.g., in the Education Gazette), you must include the following specific legal phrasing:

For a standard Special Position (tagged teacher)

"A willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school shall be a condition of appointment. Any person being considered for this position must be a person who, in the opinion of the Proprietor, is acceptable."

For a Principal or DRS (Director of Religious Studies)

"The appointee will be required to give guidance and provide effective leadership in religious instruction and observances throughout the school. A willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school shall be a condition of appointment."
