Remi Ruggeberg "Mountain Sunset"
18x20, paint and painbrush, 2021
My idea was to create a colorful piece of artwork that included sunrise and mountains. I got the sunset idea from a picture I had taken. My inspirations for the mountains were the rocky mountains.
My progress in making this was painting the background of the painting the lightest color of the background then I used darker colors to keep the sunset multiple colors. Next, I painted the base color of the mountains and then added different colors to the mountains stroking with my paintbrush. Last I did the final touches. The tools I used were a paintbrush and acrylic paint. This is artwork is supposed to represent the beauty of mountains. I want my audience to think that these are rocky mountains. The most difficult part of this project was the mountains. I struggled with this because at first I painted many colors on the mountain and they didn't really blend together as I thought they would so I had to restart. If I start over I wouldn’t have added the birds because They show through even when I painted over them. I think it is more realistic with abstract in it because the mountains or more real but the colors aren’t so much real. I think my art style is brighter colors with real things.
Remi Ruggeberg "Face"
18x20, paint, paint marker, paintbrush
My idea was to create a piece of art that represented a unique face. I got this idea from a picture I had seen on the internet. My progress for making this painting started off with painting the background all blue then I painted have of the painting black. Second, I sketch out the face of the painting. Next, I finished making the edges of the black paint straight. Then I colored over one of the faces with a white paint marker. Last I finished by painting the other side of the face white. This artwork is supposed to represent the differences in faces. I want the audience to think that everyone is unique and perfectly perfect in their own way. The most difficult thing was sketching the faces, it was hard to make certain facial features. If I started this project over I would have painted the whole art piece the same color. I think this art piece is abstract because the face is not realistic face.
Remi Ruggeberg " Mixed media"
16x20
My idea for this piece was to create art by using multiple art pieces. My progress in making this piece started off with painting the background white. Second, I found pics of art that I liked and that I thought would look good to add to this art piece. Next, I cut out the pieces of the art and mod-podge them onto the canvas. Then I kept adding and layering more pieces of art onto another. Lastly, I covered the piece with mod podge. This art piece is supposed to represent that there can be multi art in one art piece. I want my audience to see this as art, and not just different paintings glued together. The most difficult thing was trying to fill in every little space on the canvas. If I started over I would have left some of the canvas without painting, and painted a solid color. This art piece is mixed media.
