For my animal painting, I chose to do coy fish. I chose this for two reasons. My first reason is I like the look and idea of it, My second reason is pretty fish like coy fish have always been something I've liked to look at and I find it very calming to watch them swim around. This painting was defiantly one that took me quite a while. I first painted the water background with different size brushes and different shades of blue. Then, I sketched the fish with a white pencil. I mixed reds and yellows for both of the fish. Then, I outlined the outside of the fish and the fins with a grey purple color. The most difficult thing for me was defiantly having the pacience for it. I just had to stick with it because I knew the end result would be worth it. If I were to start over, I would do it on a bit of a smaller canvas so it wouldn't take quite as long. This is a realistic painting because the fish are real animals. I love how the painting turned out and I like that I did do the bigger canvas, it made it all worth the wait.Â
