Drawing 1

Baseline

(4inx6in), object, 2024

I chose to draw this because I love drawing flowers. Flowers are also something I have enjoyed drawing for a very long time. To start off I created the middle circle and began to add pedal after pedal until I couldn't fit anymore. After the pedals, I added the stem and leaves. Lastly, I did some shading around the pedals and left to make everything complete. I think it symbolizes happiness because flowers are known to make people happy and make them feel good. The most difficult thing for me was getting the pedals how I wanted them and shaping them right. If I started over I would make the pedals a little more even and more balanced. I would also maybe add some color or more dimension.

Portrait

(12inx12in), black & white, 2024

I chose to draw this because I overall just thought the original picture was cute and wanted to try something out of my comfort zone. To start off I had my paper in a graph and also the original picture in a graph so I could get the outline and sizing right. After I finished the outline I erased all of the graph lines and started to go into details until I liked how it looked. I think it symbolizes and shows peace and happiness because it's very simple not a lot going on and it can bring a smile to people's faces. The most difficult thing for me was doing the face because it's extremely hard to get the detail right but I kept trying until I got it where I wanted. If I started over I would go into a little more detail with things and make it more neat. This artwork style is realism because it's realistic and based on a real photo.

Color Drawing

(12inx12in), Color, 2024

I chose to draw this because it was a bit out of my comfort zone and I thought it would be fun to draw. To start this I used a pencil to draw everything and outline things. After this, I went in with a colored pencil and outlined and colored everything how I wanted it to be. The most difficult part about this was the sunset because it's hard to do with colored pencils and it didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it. I think this symbolizes peace and contentment because of how calming the setting would be with a pretty view and just quiet.  If I started over I would want to make the sunset more realistic and add some more detail to the wood.

Combo Drawing

(12inx12in), combo, 2024

I chose to draw this because I thought it was a cool idea to do for my combo drawing. to do this I started off by sketching out the outline of the butterfly then going over it with sharpie. After that I went in with markers and filled in where I wanted each color to be. I think it shows love because lots of people love butterflys and they can bring peace. If I started this project over I would want to chose different colors because overall I could have picked colors that went together more and complemented the drawing. The most difficult part about this drawing was getting the overall sketch of the butterfly right because it was very difficult to make it proportional.
