11x8.5, Color combo, 2023
My idea was to get out of my comfort done and have a theme that isn't my exact style. I searched Pintrest for ideas, and it evolved from there. I sketched the original skull and i realized it was too blane so i decided to add a background.
First I sketched out the skull with pencils and exploring new blending methods. Once i decided to add a background, I used the light table to get the ride details. I used a variety colored pencil for the snake and markers for the background. I realized I wouldn't have time to color all the designs in the background so I chose which ones would stick out and focus my time on those.
This artwork to me, means to get out of your comfort zone and do a drawing you don't typically see yourself do.
The most difficult part to me was the background. It wasn't very hard as it was just time consuming so I made myself improvise and focus on what was more important. If I were to start over, I would use a differnt color sheme. Th reds and blacks aren't really my style. I would use more nutrual and light colors.
This artwork is Abstract. I use different designs and shapes to make my work. I really love how the skull and snake stick out of the paper. It's a very unique peice of artwork.
