Art Name: "Raphus Cucullatus"
12 x 9 in, colored pencil on paper, 2026
The idea is of a colorful dodo bird. I got the idea by thinking on what theme I was doing, which was extinct animals then picked my favorite one. I wanted to try and color it sense the reference was colored and First. The tools I used is 1 pencil, colored pencils with different shades, and a knead eraser. Some techniques I used was shading, coloring and blending. This artwork doesn't really have a meaning or symbolism, but is a way for me to challenge myself with coloring. I want my audience to think that my drawing looks like a dodo bird. So far the most difficult thing about this drawing is the keeping the best details while erasing the worst. I feel like I understand more about colors and how to blend them. The believe that the style of art is abstract because I used a drawing reference and the dodo bird is dead. I just love how my artwork came out and I am proud of my work.
Art Name: "Still life By James Neuberg"
12 x 9 in, Chalk Pastels 2026
The idea is of a colorful still life from Picasso. I got the idea by being told that I had to make it. The tools I used is chalk pastels a pencil, sharpie, and paper. Some techniques I used was sketching out the outline of the objects and then I sharpied over my first pencil lines. Next I used different colored chalk to color in the shapes and then we used a protective spray. This artwork doesn't mean anything to me it was just an asighment and I did not enjoy creating it. The most difficult thing about creating this artwork is the coloring. We had specific instructions and the chalk was hard to use. The chalk was also very messy. I would try harder if I could restart. The style is still life. I love that it is finished and I do not have to do it anymore.
Art Name: "My Baseline for Drawing zwei"
8.5 × 11 inches, Pencil and Paper 2026
This idea is what my first assignment is and its my rendition of a famous artwork. The art work is "stormtroopers advancing under gas" By Otto Dix. Its just a rough sketch and its not finished but its shows where my art skill is right now. My process starts with looking at picture and making sketching out some loose shapes. Then I refine the shapes into the correct objects and made details. The tools I used was just a pencil and erraser. This artwork doent have any symbolism its just a picture of my skill and I want my audience to think how cool my artwork is. The most difficult aspect of this artwork is the hands and showing depth. I overcame the struggles by trying over and over again. If I could restart I would finish the artwork. The style is more cartoony. I love the hand and the gas mask on the first guy.
Art Name: "Shinny pot"
6 × 7.5 x 4 inches, clay 2026
This idea is a flower pot for a class assignment. The first iteration of this flower pot was too thin and would not survive the kiln. So I had to cut one of the sides and make it thicker and stronger. The tools I used was my hands, a bowl, and some clay tools. The techniques I used was adding on small clay to build up the sides. When the pot came out of the kiln I used a metal glaze and tried to make a patern with gold but I think I put too much coats of metal. The gold got covered but I do see some of it and I see the gliter. The artwork doesnt mean anything its just a flower pot. The most difficult thing about this pot was building it to not blow up. It came out looking really bad so I dont think I did a good job at making it even. I overcame not blowing up my pot by cutting it inhalf and making it stronger for the kiln. If I could start over I would make it look better and try harder. This pot doesnt have a style it just is shinny. I love the glaze and I do not want it to be a flower pot.
