"Flowers"

16"x20"

Acrylic paint, paintbrushes, canvas

My idea was to show how pretty flowers are and how happy they can make someone feel. I enjoy painting and drawing flowers because they bring a smile to my face. I started out using goldish/yellow acrylic paint for my background. Next, I painted the red/brown vase. After that, I painted the water that the flowers sit in, in the vase. Then, I I painted the stems then the base color of the flowers. Finally, I painted the newer layers over and over until I made a white color on the flowers. This painting I just want others to think about flowers in real life and how they make you feel. My goal is to show how beautiful flowers are and how they make people feel. I struggled a lot with the stems and the background. The yellow paint originally, ran out before I was done using it. The stems were hard to do the top layer on because of how thin it was. I worked through it though and trusted the process. If I started ver I think I would use maybe more of a grey for a background and change the type of flowers I painted. This is a realistic painting, showing how real these flowers are. I love the way the flowers turned out and how well it works with the other colors in this painting.

Dogs with the angel

"Dogs with the angel"

9"x12"

Acrylic paint, paintbrushes, canvas paper

The idea for this painting was to show all my dogs, including the one who passed away and is now in heaven. I really just kind of missed my dog who died and I wanted to make a painting with him in it. I started out with drawing the dogs on the paper, then painting the 3 dogs in the front, and eventually, when that was done, I painted the angel. After that, I painted the sky where the angel dog is floating in. Next, I then painted the floor the other dogs are laying on. Lastly, I painted the wall that goes into the sky. I really feel as if this painting represents how much love I have for every one of these dogs, no matter being alive or not. The hardest part was painting the eyes on each dog and the wall, I was trying to stay focused and it was very hard to make the eyes look real. However, I stayed focused and tried my hardest, and overcame those stressful difficulties. This is a realistic painting about my dogs. I love how well this all came together though at the end. I enjoy looking at this painting and seeing all my dogs together.
