Plaster, Paint, Glue, Cotten Balls, Wires, hot glue

My inspiration for this was the bunny I had and I wanted to make something of my own with my own ideas that nobody else really had. First, in the process of making this mask was, I picked out a cat mask. Then I plastered it, with 3 layers which every class I’d do another coat. After that, I added on my ears. I also then painted. The next class I added cotton balls to make the fur of the bunny look fluffy. Now, the class after that I added wires to my bunny to look like whiskers. Some things that were harder or that was challenging for me was probably when I had to make the ears with plaster and wires and they wouldn't be the same size and wouldn’t fold as I wanted sometimes. I wanted to be and so I used cotton balls to make the “fur” of the bunny look soft. I like how well the fur came out and the whiskers (wires) formed and looked well. Only thing is I wish I changed the eyes because, to me, it looks kind of creepy. And I would have made the eyes with either button or push them out.

“My Happy Place”

Graphite, Paper

My inspiration for this project was to do something like some rooms in my house. I did some things that were in my house from what I know of and put them in the picture. First I drew an x throughout the whole paper and made a box in the middle. Then, I drew some lines for a window, frame, t.v., and table. I after that added some things onto the window and table, etc. Also, I thought it might be cool to add a cartoon character on the T.V. so that it wasn’t just black and white. Next, I put some lights on my ceiling. When I was done with the drawing stage, I shaded the things that I put on my project. In the process in shading, I used a tool to help and had to use a paper to tell which my drawing was too dark in areas and even to light. I did, however, have to make changes to my work because some of the areas in my paper were too dark and wouldn’t work or they’d be to light and then it was the same shade as my wall. So that was a challenge I had to decide along the way to know whether to make it darker or lighter. One thing I will say I wanted to add was curtains. My window seemed kind of bare with nothing there so I wanted to add curtains but at first, it would not go the way I wanted. But then I figured out how to make it better and got it done. One thing that I didn’t see other people having was a cartoon character on their T.V. so I like how mine stands out and makes my room look more interesting. But, a thing I wish I would have done better on is making a couch. I think my room looks somewhat weird without any furniture on the ground, but it does look kind of pretty. Making the box at the beginning was one of the hardest things for me to do although because, I would either no have the lines touch each other or they’d be far apart or so close, so I had to keep like re-drawing and erasing my lines. Or trying to find a good title for this I had no idea what to name this. Other than that I really like how my art turned out.

“Orange Juice"

6.5, 6, 1

My inspiration for this piece was some designs from Kimmy Cantrell and doing different designs like my mask. I enjoyed doing this because you get to pick your own designs and can looked like a face with eyes on the top and bottom of the face. The process I used to do all of this is I started with rolling out the clay piece of the size I wanted, next cutting the clay in the shape I wanted, then cutting out any extra parts that I wanted on my faces. After that, I put on the texture I needed on my face or the extra pieces I made. In that I put about 4-5 different textures all over. Then I set the clay pieces on my face and we put it in the kiln. After, I glazed my face with all different colors as you can see. One of the last steps was after glazing, putting them in the kiln one last time. A challenge I faced was I kept getting like orange on my lips and different colors where I didn’t want it. Something I thought I’d do is put my background face orange and I had to face that because it was darker and I wasn’t sure until I went with it. And I enjoy how this actually turned out especially the splattered piece I made. If I could change one thing on my wok is I would change the orange in the back to that tie-dye, snow fire color instead of being dark and not blending as well.

"Ocean Breeze"

Somethings I liked about my weaving was the colors because they were bright colors that matched my room and lots of items I have. I had help naming it with Ashlyn and we decided to do Ocean and I added breeze so I thought it was a cool idea to make it look like a calm type of feeling when looking at it. If I could restart I would add more ties or tassels with another row or make it longer. But I really enjoyed this project it was a fun activity.
