Forest Neuberg “Haze of Night ”
8 x 8 x 2, Stoneware and glaze, 2026
I had to a design or pattern for the so I chose stripes. I decided to used sapphire blue for the stripes because the contrast with the red will look cool. I used small balls of clay and pushed them into the mold of the bowl. I used sponge, clay, a rib tool, and a needle tool to add or cut. When I look at my artwork the blue reminds me of “The Starry Night” by Van Gogh. I want my artwork to portray a foggy night. Some struggles I had was that I didn’t know where the blue was after I glazed, so I glazed the wrong spot. I overcame this by covering most of the original color to make the stripes stand out more. I like the blue and how the stripes turned out.
Forest Neuberg "Paused in Chaos"
9x12, Chalk, 2026
My idea for the patterns were mostly shapes repeated or lines across the the area. This artwork is based on Picasso artwork. My process was first sketching the objects of a different paper. Once done with that, I got my final paper and drew the objects. Next I made 10 different lines to cut up the objects. I then colored the big spaces on the outside. Then I colored the objects and the rest of the areas. For this project I sharpie, pencil, and chalk. The art is representing the origins of most art today. Some difficult parts for me was the doing the because it would smear easily. It was hard to hold the paper because where I would hold would smear a bit. I would change the lines I made. I made the lines to complex and wild. It made more complex for the object’s coloring. I liked the combination of all the colors in my artwork.
Forest Neuberg “Baby in green sweater”
12x9, Stonehenge, 2026
My idea is family so I started with my baby brother Phieffer. I thought of a theme for art and landed on family because I don’t many photos that aren’t family. Another reason I chose this theme is because I’ve had done family members for artwork before. I use many different types of colored pencil to get the shade I wanted. I want my audience to think about their family. The message in my artwork is appreciate your family more. The most difficult part was coloring the face and the sweater. I overcame this struggle by mixing more and more until I got a shade I liked. An easy part of the project was the background. If I started over I would change the shade of green for the sweater. My artwork is styled in realism. I like the proportions of the body and the face.
I got this idea from looking at the list of art I could do and I found one interesting. I thought that The sleep of reason produces monsters had a cool name so I chose it. I started with making the table and the guy, but I made it to close to the side of the paper so I had to move it. I used a pencil with an eraser. This artwork is appreciating The sleep of reason produces monsters. The most difficult part of this project was making the bird and animals with enough room. I like the facial expressions on the owls they look very expressive.
My idea was redoing the baseline which was “The sleep of reason produces monsters”. First I started on the table and letters. Next I made the bird on the side and then started on the guy. The guy was hard but once done I moved on to the rest of the birds. After the birds I finished up with the lynx. My artwork is a lesson on how you can always get better because I think overall I did better than the first time I tried. The most difficult part of my artwork was the guy and his arms. The arms was hard to make the right proportions because he was laying down with his arms infront. I kept on making them too small. I like the writing because I originally didn’t have it in the first one but I really think it looks good.
